ORIGINAL PRE-CONSOLE VERSION!
The original version of Cortex' theme from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. This is what it supposed to sound like before it was edited to the game.
Composed by Josh Mancell & Mark Mothersbaugh of Mutato Muzika
Thanks to Josh Mancell we can finally hear these!
He is planning to release these all someday. So we all buy them, right?

I LOVE how if you listen closely, you can hear a tribal drum beat underneath the usual Cortex theme. If Josh Mancell ever made an Uka Uka Boss Theme, it'd definitely have that drum beating more prominently.

SUch a difference. Compression does sooo much to the original music its pretty sad. Shame uncompressed Bandicoot soundtracks are so hard to find. AND ITS A SHAME THIS BOSS FIGHT WAS SO EASY.

No doubt, the whole reason why the ps1 sound much worse is because it got compressed into a ps1 format. Now that they dont need to compress it, it will sound better.

Aristotle Testicles It means before the music was put into the final game. It sounds so different because the PS1's sound chip couldn't hold the music, so it had to be toned down and compressed in order to fit.

As much as it sucks to see crash in the current state he is in... Warped was a great send to his platforming games on PS1 before he started dev jumping. And this boss fight/boss theme always felt like the FINAL battle for crash, at least to me personally, even the secret ending leaves off on a note that feels permanent.

+DIsturbios1234 personally, crash 3's cortex battle was the best the theme: AWESOME the actual battle itself: pretty hard when you're a kid (so yea, unbeatable) the feeling of it is so cool but what i like about the battle is the way it's set up you're fighting cortex, and aku aku is fighting uka uka both at the same time with that intense theme in the background... IT'S SO COOOL

I have my doubts that this is the pre-console version, but just a remix or even the song from the official CD (as they can sound different/better than in-game). I'm not complaining though, it's really good! ^^

Same here. The PS1 trilogy and CTR were the best, WoC, TS, and CNK were good, the rest were okay but COTT and MOM shouldn't have been Crash games. It would've done better w/o putting Crash in it unless they included classic Crash elements in it.

The original PS1 didn't have enough memory to play the original songs, so they were stripped down to just the essential notes.

It's fine. Ever since Crash of the Titans, it hasn't been the same. Those games caused trouble for the series to the point where people (even me) forgot all about Crash. Certain series like Tekken and Spyro used to be PS exclusives until their games spawned to other consoles but certain games like their PS trilogy, will probably be for playstation only.

Heh, exactly what I was trying to convey. Call Of Duty is too popular for a 360 version of a possible Crash Bandicoot HD collection to do very well, so I think it'd be better off on PS3 or possibly 4 and maaaaaaybe the Wii U. If it ever DOES get made, that is...

If there is an HD remake for the Crash trilogy I wouldn't be concerned about it going to 360 instead of PS3, what would worry me though, is a Spyro HD trilogy going to 360 because EA bought Insomniac, and as you can re-call when they bought Bioware Mass Effect was passed on to the PS3 and the Wii-U.

Fair enough then. The information is certainly appreciated. I do enjoy Crash but only really liked the main trilogy - not to sound completely nostalgia-driven or anything. Unpopular Opinion however, I didn't mind Crash of the Titans as a game in itself but certainly NOT as a Crash game, though I do agree entirely I completely forgot about the series as a whole the newer games just don't feel right.
