Crash twinsanity needs a Sonic p-06 treatment. But even more hard work by including the cut levels aswell. Whoever does this will be considered a legend in the crash community

I will always say this is my favourite Crash game even if there's objectively better games in the series than this. The way the the dev team managed to pull off this buggy but yet charming game while being rushed to release it and at being odds with each other will show that this game especially when compared to the post naughty dog and pre n-sane trilogy games has the most love put into it in my eyes at least

Twinsanity is one of those games that prove that if enough heart and passion is put into a project, that passion can overshadow the objective quality of how said project turns out, maybe not for everyone if it turns out bad, but at least for a significant amount of people within the target audience. Also this iteration of Crash looks like the fursona of Sheen from Jimmy Neutron.

There it is, after 11 months of waiting, it has finally arrived. Twinsanity my beloved, my favorite game of all time.

It does make me wonder how Lex Lang would've portrayed Cortex in a more serious title, as he took over the role from Clancy Brown starting with Twinsanity. But Lex nailed the more comedic tone for Cortex and it is clear that future games, mainly Crash 4 played heavily into that.

It takes longer to watch this video than to finish the game. That shows how much impact such a little game has had on people. Twinsanity has love put into it, and it was unmatched in this respect until Crash 4: Its About Time.

Only recently the Crash of Twinsanity took place and, putting my hand on my heart, I declare that this is my favorite Crash game! Yes, it has not the most pleasant gameplay, but, my God, how much love has been invested in this game. There will never be such a game again. There will never be such a chic humor. Yes, they try to joke in Crash 4, but local funny moments will only cause a grin. While the humor in Twinsanity is good at ruining the expectation, which causes delight. Taking as an example the scene where Crash looks at the back of the Cortex, I want to say that an unprepared player will be confused, not knowing what can happen. And that's just fine. By the way, the decoration is also pleasing to the eye. Especially the characters. But more admires the design of the Cortex. In the classic Crash trilogy, the Cortex had a more typical look of a middle-aged evil scientist. However, in Twinsanity, the Cortex was given a more elegant and extravagant look. The body has increased, becoming more realistic. His small hands and feet in pointed shoes they create that elegant image that makes the Cortex really beautiful, despite its unsightly appearance. And the body language itself seemed to have become more.... feminine? This image of the Cortex is really something bold. However, I am outraged by the fact that some people think that Neo in Twinsanity is a laughing stock (in a negative sense). Although it is clear that his story is presented through the prism of humor, which looks more adequate than the guide to the trilogy. Also, I want to notice the chemistry of Crash and Cortex. Despite the fact that they are enemies, in reality the enmity is one-sided. Crash does not feel anger or dislike for the Cortex. Yes, he can respond to aggression with the same coin. But, despite all the attempts on the part of the scientist, the Bandicoot recognizes its creator. This is shown by the final scene, where Crash smiles, thinking that after a joint adventure, Cortex has finally reconsidered his views about him. However, Cortex has suffered the entire journey and it can be understood why he decides to kill Crash again. But in fact, such a decision was not right. That's why fate punishes him. And this is a wonderful and slightly frightening ending. I wonder how the Cortex was then taken out of my head. I am writing this comment not only because I somehow want to supplement my opinion about the game, but also because working on a two-hour video is a titanic work. The video is worthy of attention. It can be especially useful for those who want to get acquainted with additional information about Twinsanity. Good luck to the author!

I REALLY like the idea of the Twins being a bit sympathetic towards Crash (and the other mutant characters) on the account they're both mutants because of Cortex. They could really mean well or not, but either way, I think it's a missed opportunity.

1:40:40 this happened to me the first time I played, and also the last time I played, because it was so many years later and I forgot. I also remember the first time I played, when going back to Cortex's lab later in the game, I went through a door and saw him leaning over the rail. I went to see what he was doing and it triggered the Slip Slide Icecapades cutscene, autosaving in the process and erasing so much progress I had made.

You mentioning Tani Tiger unlocked a long lost memory that the first fanfic I ever discovered was an edgy Crash Bandicoot fanfic centered on Crunch and his GF Tani Tiger when I was 10 years old. Since I didn't know about the concept of a fanfic at the time I thought it was all Canon. Good times. Apparently it was called "Outcast Bandicoot".

Crash Twinsanity is the epitome of rushed and troubled development.

Twinsanity was my first exposure to crash bandicoot ever and i immediately fell in love with it. The scenery in the first level and the ability to just explore the peacfull and serene N.sanity island with the breathtaking environment was so appealing to 9 year old me. I then went back and learned about the previous original games and then was hilariously mindblown that everything was linear back then and that boxes were all needed for 100% story completion. This is when i really appreciated the new "open world" aspect when i started comparing the first level of Twinsanity to the first level of crash 1, both taking place in N.sanity beach. Being confined to a linear pathway for me wasnt as appealing as being able to explore a more wide area like interacting with the wumpa seeds, soccer balls to throw at nitro, haybales at crash's home for the gem. Kinda felt "real" in a way. This game holds such a special place in my heart and i know that thats similar to many aswell. I went and played the original trilogy aswell (and twoc while at it lmao) and while it is true that objectively as a full functioning optimized game, twinsanity falls shorter. But the passion and charm that went into twinsanity is insanely incredible. The fact that this unfinished unpolished rushed game that was done midst creative differences under one passionate teamunit managed to be this loved. Thats an amazing accomplishment and i truely believe if it was finished with the intended full content being there it would be probably THE best crash bandicoot game post naughty dog era and arguably the best in its existance. Even with what we got, it managed to touch the hearts of many ❤

Idk why people wouldn’t want a darker crash considering he was an experiment who was meant to be a general in an army and when he escaped, his girlfriend was experimented on instead and his sister was experimented on as well. We see this in ALL the games, even the most recent game with its tapes. That’s not including the other characters like ripper roo or Dr N.Brio. It’s not weird for the series to be a bit darker Edit: I’m aware that this came out in 2004 so games from 2020 wouldn’t have existed yet but the whole experimenting thing was in the first game and his sister was introduced in the second one so my point still stands

I very much appreciate how in depth you have gone with the development of this game and The Wrath of Cortex. For these two games specifically I think is very important, and very telling how the development problems led to one game that tries too little and fails to capture what made warped so great, and one game that tries to go above and beyond to the extent where their development can't seem to keep up with their ambition.

of any game i’ve ever played, this is one of the only ones i have a very distinct memory of exactly how excited i was the day i got it. many games have found a special place in my heart but i will never forget the day my mother took me on a surprise visit to our local game store and got me the game she knew i’d had my eyes on for months. i can’t even explain it but thinking back to that day gets me emotional. thanks mom, and thank you to each and every one of you who refuses to let this game fall into the void of forgotten games.

I can't believe you just made an entire 2 and a half hours video about ... the most important childhood game I ever owned. I can't tell you how many times I played it over and over again. At the time I didn't have that many of em but for some reason I always loved this game and is the entire reason I love the crash bandicoot series. It's definitely my favorite. Twinsanity’s greatest contribution to the Crash series will always be its reintroduction of Cortex as a comedic foil to Crash, you can still see Twinsanity’s DNA come through with Cortex’s journey in Crash 4 from enemies to allies back to enemies.

I didn’t like it when Jak II went edgy, but that was more about it feeling like it was just following trends in its edginess. I liked the world of Jak 1, and replacing the magical whimsy and wonder after one game with everybody doing a Clint Eastwood glare while the protagonist has an angry Hulk mode and police chase you like GTA in the city, it did, it felt like the people at Naughty Dog were just being edgy because the games around them were trying to be more “Mature,” not because there was some bold new direction that was worthwhile to follow.

My main takeaway from this game is the recurring issue that's plagued a lot of bad or mixed bag games that weren't doomed from the start. Crunch. Nad the ps2 era was pretty much the time when cracks like that started to show and this for sure was a big thing in Insomniac Games if you look into the development of ratchet and clank 1 to 3 and the future series (The Golden Bolt did a full detail on that). And not this is around the same time that Sonic Heroes was done and 2 years before Sonic 06. And both Sonic 06 and Crash Twinsanity had its dedicated fans wishing the game had more time and were regarded as the best in the series if that happened and if you ignore the crowd that trashes on anything because it's new crash/modern Sonic.

Crash Twinsanity is a very one-of-a-kind game. With all of jankiness, glitches, and loads of cut content, you'll think it'll be in infamy like those bad games during it's time or become Sonic 06 of the Crash Bandicoot franchise, but that's not what happen at all. Despite all its flaws, Twinsanity was reviewed decently and it's one of, if not, the most beloved game with within the Crash community, even with Crash 4 being an objectively better game. And like many others who played this game, It's my first introduction to Crash and it's one of my favorite games of all time. A remake of Twinsanity would be a dream, an open world Crash Bandicoot game that is like Twinsanity, but better, would be amazing.

This Crash title barely seems to get any recognition. I loved it as a kid and I still do! I played a lot of it to get my mind off of troubles at school, stuff at home, or if I was just bored. I can't play it now because my Playstation 2 croaked, but I so badly wanted others to see it! I'm glad its getting more praise now!

This has remained my favorite crash game over the years, replayed it multiple times as a kid as a teen and now as an adult, litteraly started replaying again tonight as to why i decided to look up a retrospective on it, I ADORE this game, it's so cartoony, bright, colorful, funny, the graphics, the sound, the music is amazing, this game has SOOOO much potential... what is already there is soooo close to being perfect, just needs that additional refinement and additions to patch it all up if that makes sense. Thankfully throughout all my playthroughs over the years I have barely ever seen any glitches. Mainly only one where crashes spinning animation does not play and he just glides forward but that's not much of an issue lol

Finally somebody else had the bizarre bug with Nina not being able to grapple the towers in the final bossfight! I swear I was the only one seeing it, and it was strangely conditional. Appreciate you covering this game in such detail, it was a great watch.

Crash evolution sounds like it would have been such a good way to introduce a much more mature element to what crash represents. Kinda reminds me of how Mario galaxy had a much darker theme and story and yet made Mario this very much need happiness to all the seriousness the introduction had. Really think they missed something with that in my opinion, the footy thing does seem a little forced. Best use I would have done is just as a new ability. Better yet just make it so each new ability is just a different species he saved on the different island/worlds he visited, it would have made it feel more natural and less of a bandwagon at the time it was being made. Makes me wish it could still happen

I think a One piece kinda story in a Crash game would be amazing. Like if crash goes traveling from island to island w his friends making new enemies and allies, giving it a more narrative sentered style. I mean look at One piece, it already manages to pull a cartoony and goofy style and engage u in an amazing story

I'm sure this observation has been made before, but I honestly believe Twinsanity is the Sonic 06 of the Crash series. The parallels are striking: ambitious project with a lot of passion behind it; marred by technical issues, internal turmoil, and a lack of time. Though I will say Twinsanity is still a lot more technically sound than 06.

Great video! Fun fact: When I played twinsanity a while ago I actually got completely softlocked during the academy of evil level and had to completely restart the whole entire game. During the midpoint of the level when you switch from playing as crash to cortex I saved my game and got off for a bit and then when I came back to the game later and I loaded my save file I found out that the game had completely become broken and I couldn’t progress anymore in it without restarting. I wasn’t very happy.

Crash twinsanity always felt so weird to me. I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the unfinishedness, the story, the music, setting and level design but for 19 years i’ve been unable to pinpoint just what it is. Something about this game feels like a mid 2000’s Nickelodeon cartoon

Great video, love the game and it's fun to see this kind of content about it. But man, that part where you start imitating as Cortex was terrible, tried watching for a few minutes but it just went for too long so I went ahead and just started skipping until it was over.

Throwaway comment: This game was my childhood, all the memories of playing with the whole family and taking turns on certain parts to the shared joy in each person beatin a phase in the final fight. While not perfect by any regards, The simple fact that my whole family could enjoy this game, the music, the humor, and the gameplay is a testament to it’s true quality. I will forever hold this game in my heart as something truly special. The soundtrack is the most unique I have ever heard up there with Minecraft. The comedy is top tier and despite its flaws the gameplay and level design is still iconic and beloved by child me. Thank you Crash Twinsanity for being a bright spot in my childhood.

Nice video, really enjoyed it! Twinsanity for me is the one I played the most and also confused me the most as a kid. I didn't occur to me as a kid that the game was unfinished, so I was positively flabbergasted when at several points I turned the wrong way and had to replay entire levels of the game. Nonetheless, it is to this day my favorite Crash Bandicoot game! Even with all its flaws and missing content, it just has a special charm to it. Though it makes me a little sad to think about how it could have turned out, had the developers had more time to put into it.

Crash Twinsanity had a huge impact on me, as weird as that sounds. As a small kid, I loved Crash 3. I wanted more Crash Bandicoot action. Luckily, I found a new Crash game for 5 dollars in a bargain bin and it changed my life. I was fascinated by the art and humour found in the game. I would spend hours copying all the 2d art in the game. It made me inspired to draw comics and draw characters of my own. From then on, I would draw on anything I could find. My homework, school desks, notebooks... anywhere. It was all thanks to the art of Keith Webb (lead artist for the game). So even if Twinsanity is hated by some for being a glitchy, unfinished, broken product with divisive acapella music... I would still say that it was the best five dollars I ever spent.

While I consider “Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex” the series’ biggest travesty. Crash Twinsanity is downright an insult to the Crash Bandicoot fanbase. They both scrapped everything the last minute like they did the earlier game, and charged full price for a 2-3 hour glitchy mess. It’s such a shame though since the game is frankly hilarious at some parts, and it could’ve been something truly special…

Twinsanity was the only Crash game I grew up with before I was 10 and I don't had the same nostalgic feelings for the original games. Those personally don't feel like a 'Crash game' for me but I do understand why most people have the opposite opinion and taste than mine due to they properly grew up with the originals. A 'Crash game' for me is an open world exploration, unique strange acapella soundtrack, totally voiceless Crash and very obscure random self-aware humor. I didn't like much of a more arcadey approach with fixed camera and generic tribal soundtrack of the original game. I did struggle with annoying bugs a lot but I though like any other game was a feature and it's my own fault if the game bugged rather than flaws of the game design. It actually made me paranoid of playing the game as a kid since I didn't want to risk triggering bugs that kills you. The bugs was really the worst and made the game having fake difficulty unintentionally.

Feel like a New Crash 5 could take some of what this game missed the mark on. Example with the Evil Twins, like the sound of them coming to the detention they are originally from top find that Cortex is gone, but still wanting revenge take it out on Crash, they first try and convince Crash, Coco and even Tawna (since this is post Crash 4) to join them as failed experiments of Cortex wanting revenge but when Aku Aku warns them and tell the twins Cortex is gone the Twins paralyze Aku Aku for a minute with a ray-gun and say "They made a poor decision," they start taking the Wumpa Islands piece by piece and state that they have already made allies with others who were experimented on by Cortex, and well the Bandicoots and "weird gator fella" said no they don't need any of them with there Army, newly evolved Mutant generals (Old characters coming back like Ripper Roo, Pinstripe and Tiny Tiger ) and a device that will suck the land dry of it's resources. Be a great way to start an adventure and get our Hero going. But Uka Uka using this as way to try finding a way back with Cortex and force to pick a side, working with his annoying goodie goodie brother or these birds that Cortex help cause is difficult but he will Destroy this world one way and many other ideas scarp can return too. Coco Dream Level, going to partly destroyed dimension and using stuff like the mecha-suit or hover board in levels.

Twinsanity was actually the first Crash game I ever played, and it never really dawned on me how broken it was. Then again I was never able to get that far in it. As a result the game has a special place in my heart and it's good it has its own fanbase. Also I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant are overhated, not great, but overhated, I never got the hangups, though chances are studio interference may play a role in how those games turned out.

I know this game is glitchy as hell ... but I still love it! One of my favorite childhood games. I feel like I never really noticed the short-comings and just accepted the janky gameplay lol Basically, I had a huge smile on my face the whole video! :D I only played with the German voice over, which is as good as the English version! Even when I was younger, I loved the sarcastic humor of this game. Also, the a cappella music is the best - such a creative soundtrack. But, seeing all the unused and cut concept art of this game makes me sad. This game could have been so much more ... and I agree that there will probably never be a remake of some sort :/
