$40 at thrift store | How much profit can I expect?

For this week’s video, I was challenged by Sonnet in my creative membership group to do a 49/49 challenge. I went to the thrift store, spent $40 and am going to see what I could sell in 40 days for this 40/40 challenge. In this video, I use the IOD Transfers: Ephemeral Melange and Seed Catalogue. I thrifted 32 items for $40 and show you what I got and what I plan on selling them for. I also upcycle 5 of these items to sell in my booth for profit. I used the NEW DIY Paint cottage color by JRV in the colors Americauna, along with White Linen and Aviary. I also used the JRV decoupage paper: La Mamie Floral. Great choices for the money spent and you should do well on the ROI. My only input is when checking online for prices, ebay especially, please make sure you are checking the sold prices in lieu of the listed prices. An item can be listed for any amount but the true tell in what it may bring is the sold price. Good luck in the competition!

Heather, you did a fantastic job picking you items, i think you will win this. I love what you did with basket tray, its beautiful and the lazy Susan as well. I think the prices are probably with everyone else, everything is so expensive. I ask myself would i pay that for the item and thats the way im pricing but im probably to cheep. God bless

Oh so many goodies you found, and your upcycles were perfect-loved them all! Just got my new Seeds transfer, can’t wait to play! Lol The decoupage paper you used was so pretty-if you use plastic wrap or for thicker paper even a paper towel, that will help you smooth out the paper without it getting tacky on your fingers and risk tearing. Thank you for including the original and your sale prices-it really helps us/me with my own pricing. Good luck with your contest-hope you win! ❤🎉

I'd like some info on the paper you used on your lazy susan. What type of paper is it (tissue paper?) and where did you get it? I love it and would like to get some for my crafting. My favorite was the round wood box with a cover you put transfers on. Do you put a sealer over the transfers?

Yes! Either a top coat or wax to seal it all together. Keep forgetting to mention that and will try to do better moving forward! 🫣

Why are YOU the seller paying sales tax??? Your store should be collecting that from the customer when they make a purchase. Sounds kinda sketchy to me! Nice haul and good luck with your challenge.

My store collects the sales tax for sure! I have to pay the credit card fee of the customer uses one but I factor that into my cost and it’s a bonus if they use cash.!
