hey mate, you can copy modifiers without addons, just simple Ctrl+L. always interesting to watch tutorials based on curves plus meshes.

kind of wish there was auto thing to pick the segment fit the scale of the cable

So you can do things like that with Geometry Nodes. That would be a good addition here. Maybe contact the creator, he's generally really receptive to ideas he things are useful.

22:05 if you marked sharp before applying on the segments, it should replicate to each item in the array, allowing for a bevel modifier

Another awesome tutorial ΛₒV! When I first heard about Cablerator, I rolled my eyes (not really understanding the extent of what it can do). Now, seeing it in action like this, I think I should get and learn it, as it does seem quite robust and powerful! Thanks for sharing!

I confess I was the same when I first looked at cablerator. But having used it quite a lot it is brilliant and does SO MUCH to save time and create an efficient workflow. Admittedly I model with cables more than other people may do but its saves me 10s of hours of time so in a cost benefit analysis world its a bargain. I should also mention the guy that made it is an absolutely top guy and very communicative. He helped me solve an issue with the cavity function that turns out isn't even caused by cablerator, it was caused by a different addon and he offered support to work that out far and beyond what I would expect from an addon creator.

😁 Thanks. I think you mean the lining up the edges from the time stamp, I find its pretty helpful for a nice clean boolean.

I0m just starting with Blender and I think I wanted to jump to the hardest ideas for a small project. I have no idea how to get the addons

Ballsy move 😁😅 I did a similar thing when I started. It look a lot longer to get the project completed but I learnt a LOT from it. I get most of my addons from Blender Market. You just save the zip file somewhere and then go to edit>preferences>addons (this is on the side menu in the preferences tab) and then select install and find the zip file.

Hi Great tutorial. but is there a way of stopping the distortion in the direction of the curve(Z axes I think) so all the clyinders get smaller towards the end of the curve but the length of each one is the same..

The length has remained the same with this method. Or do you mean the width? If you mean the width then yes there is and that's the topic of the next tutorial (Monday).

So what to do if you want to scale all detail along with the width of the curve? Like it would do in things in nature.

Which video of yours would you refer to for a greater tutorial on HardOps? I can't for the life of me figure it out lol

I haven't done one video on Hard Ops at this point. It has SO many functions I include them in other videos or focus on one element/tool at a time. The easiest way is to go to the channel page and search for Hard Ops. I will make a playlist as well when I have a chance to help 👍🏻
