There’s a lot of factors when choosing a wedge shaft. Unfortunately most wedges are simply bought with the standard option and people never get to experience what could be. Swing weight will play a role, but total weight and how the shaft flexes will also play a massive role when it comes to feel. I used to have the mci 105 solid wedge shafts in my bag but found they launched a little high for my liking. I’m now considering putting one back in my 60 degree wedge to increase spin because of this test. The mci has an amazing feel and the solid produces plenty of spin. Thanks for watching.

There definitely will be some overlap, but it’s probably more to do with my strike. I think looking at my averages is the best indicator. I generally look at standard deviation in regards to strike, but also in regards to the quality of the shaft to produce consistent spin numbers. Feel is really important, but if the numbers are not right, it’s pointless. For example, I love the feel of a Pro V1, (far more than the X) but the spin is too low for me and it costs me shots playing that ball. Feel is nice, but I’ll take a number over feel all day.

I’d go to your local golf shop and see what they would recommend. Good chance it may need a regular shaft fitted also.

I think a good place to start would be 115g KBS hi rev in regular or maybe a modus 105 wedge shaft, depending on whether you would like more or less spin in your wedges.

@@SydneyGolfTech Hit the 60* out of the bunkers on my courses I play and utilize the face etc. have fairly high confidence with it. Rarely full steam. My 54 half and half. Half full steam and half 1/2 power…. Spin is always nice. Was looking at combo of the tour wedge (54 in R flex) and the hi rev for the 60*. You reckon 2 x hi rev would be ok? Can’t get the Modus 105 here alas in Canada. All completely sold out…. They look good…. I have the NS PRO 950 regular in my second set of irons. Nippon are FANTASTIC steel shafts. Very smooth. Hard to go past a good set of custom built Fourteen wedges. They have plenty of bounce, more spin than any other wedge, and can be built with any shaft. 😀
