Don't you worry. In 10 years, game consoles will have caught up with the capabilities of the best PCs, they will be 2 or 3 times better than the most efficient gaming PCs of 2023. (Obviously the craziest PCs will be even more incredible....) But the consoles will be more financially accessible in comparison to the excellent quality they will offer. By then it will be easier for everyone to play with the graphics configurations set to Ultra mode with any console. Then within 10 years, when we see the speed at which technologies are evolving more and more quickly since the beginning of the peak of the industrial era, I think that accessibility to video games and the digital world in general will be very different. Perhaps in 30 years we will simply need to place a system directly on the temple of our head (a technologically advanced system according to our current understanding and perception) and that this device will work in such a way as to allow us to play directly from our minds. What do I know? Nothing is impossible until there is concrete and irrefutable proof to the contrary (even then...) I believe that everything that has not been will be, or is, on another part of existence. And with the time necessary to our species to allow us to assimilate certain fundamental universal truths, we will most likely make things by being more conscious and in tune with our environment - unless before that capitalism decides to commit suicide and manages to take us all with it, except for a few rare survivors scattered and lost all over the globe. __________________________________ T'inquiète pas va. Path tracing is just super difficult to run

4K Patch Tracing without DLSS is crazy, this is extremely impressive tbh, remember the current gen consoles cant get 60fps on standard rasterisation

Turn the resolution down and u get over 60 fps tbh unless u are really hardcore 2k is all u need

supposedly there are some leaks that its double the performance of a 4090. Unsure whether this is native or with dlss. Still a long way until it releases though

4k is more gpu bound than cpu bound so you will always see lower cpu usage. Varies from game to game depending on how its developed. But ive never seen more than 30% at 4k. 90% cpu usage at 1440p doesn't sound right to me. Seems insanely high for a 13900k. Task manager isnt accurate at all. I wouldnt take any metrics from there

The artifacts with dlss 3 are noticeable in this game. Ive used dlss 3 in a few other games and ive only ever noticed it in cyberpunk

@@BenchmarkBoy DLSS 3 frame gen artifacts will reduce the higher your fps is, so at 4k utilizing maybe DLSS + Balanced or Performance would net you fewer artifacts.

yeah, this is with path tracing which is very demanding so at 4k you need high tier cards

None of these games have anything even remotely close to that implementation. Both games lack realistic proper lighting GI and reflections. They also lack proper shadows and are completely limited by rasterization. I understand that nobody can run Path Tracing on a AAA game right now without a 4090, but saying older games look better is objectively untrue considering these newer titles offer more effects and more accurate effects.

this specific build cost about £3000. You could do it for slightly cheaper though if you spend less on the drives etc

my rig was £4300 but you could go less RAM I guess but 64gb is sooo good. I didn't even need the 2nd Nvme so could save some cash there also

You absolutely can optimize for specific uArchetectures the only difference in a given architecture is how cut down it can get. So far GPU scaling, % wise is very similar across most games. The big problem is how big a population you want to optimize for; consoles being the largest is a natural focus, and the uArch on those are not Ideal with the cache hierarchy being very basic on both with at most 4MB of L2 on the series x with its 52 CU Gpu and 10gb of High bandwidth Gddr6 available to the series x. PC components are usually an afterthought, leaving their much more advanced memory subsystems highly underutilized and bottlenecked.

Until other game engines catch up and start offering their own versions of Nanite, pop in is here to stay. Fortunately the sequel to cyberpunk is being made in Unreal Engine 5

i get 60-100 fps here depending where you are on the map but im using dlss quality. I think nvidia use dlss auto in their tests so yes the fps will be higher

Massive latency issues and pretty bad artifacting. I'm pushing the PC pretty hard whenever I give it a try but it doesn't improve performance by much or at all.@@BenchmarkBoy

no, frame generation is either on or off. But if you set preset overdrive you can set dlss to quality. I think thats what you mean. DLSS upscaling and frame generation are two different settings

The graphic element of the game is probably not that different. The main difference is performance. I doubt the ps4 can even play 4k native with path tracing. There's probably huge amounts of dynamic scaling going on to try and improve performance which in turn decreases quality

ue5 hasn't been that great for day 1 releases so far. Performance is always quite bad. Normally it gets better after a few patches

Imagine if we could combine Nanite with DLSS and Foveated Rendering; even budget GPUs would be able to play this game at max setting in 4K in VR. Imo, instead of constantly pushing for more powerful hardware, the future might lie in enhancing efficiency and performance through innovative optimizations. Just imagine, with these technologies, even budget GPUs could handle max settings at 4K without issue. The evolution of gaming seems to be not just about raw power but about refining what we already have. What do you think?

@@PD-ws4td Well at the end of the day ue5 is just a game engine. The game still has to be developed properly on that game engine and so far the studios that have developed the games on that engine have not been optimised so its really down to them

You're actually completely wrong, 2/3 of gamers on Steam still use 1080p. Only around 5% play at 4K. The rest are either 1440p or smaller than 1080p (somehow).

It's a technology preview, free and optional. Nvidia and CDPR are showcasing what might be possible in the future. You're not meant to play the game this way, although you obviously could with the current high-end cards and with the crutches mentioned.

No. I'm running this on a 4060 laptop. Almost everything maxed out, dlss on balanced but 75% sharpening, rust just fine, FPS varies but is the lowest in indoor environments with a lot of lighting, where it can get stuttery, but in the cities it's mostly around 50 and in the country side 80 or higher. You don't need to put everything in your game on ultra, just tone down a few settings and it still looks and runs great.

you can run it on other cards you might just need to lower dlss preset to stay above 60

Path tracing is way more intensive than regular RTX. We were not even suppose to see path tracing for an other 5 years. Some of you people are low iq.
