Footballers break to the limelight at the age where the rest of us are busy with books learning all the essentials that help us choose a career path that we will pursue in college/university and most of them especially the earlier generation were not drafted to juggle between the two. I am from Porto Alegre, his hometown, and we are about the same age. I remember seeing him play in his teens, the other side (which includes one of the most savage city derbies in the world, the GRENAL), was absolutely terrified. Being a supporter of his youth club, Gremio, I was delighted to see him play, and everybody wondered when he would debut in the pros. He was truly one of a kind. But also aloof, out of touch, and after 2010, pretty much disengaged from the game, with the exception of the seasons he spent with Atletico Mineiro. What a shame.

I always say look at the size of ronaldinho's thigh's thickness as his barometer of greatness. It's weird but not really lol. When he was younger his thighs were thin but that's normal for a youngster, them they grew and he was shredding everyone like no one before him.
