A dedicated Dalek TV series seems like the best way to give them some Ws. They can’t lose to the Doctor if the Doctor isn’t there after all. And in that same vein, it’d be nice to see Abslom Daak return in a future story and a fun throwback to the edge of the 90s.

I’d love to see Abslom Daak return in some capacity. I do like the idea of a guy who’s dedicated to killing all Daleks; a walking army who can fully grasp how the Daleks function and how to counter most of their tricks and win via brute force. Even if the Doctor doesn’t agree with the methods, the two can still be a powerful duo.

As always, very thought provoking. I wrote some Dalek history for a Doctor Who roleplay server I'm in and had great fun doing it, coming up with all these schemes the Daleks might do in this war with a human empire. I'd also like Abslom Daak to return in his full 90s edgy persona just causing mayhem while the Doctor is just standing there in disbelief at this man. It'd be a really interesting contrast.

I really want to see a dalek story where both the daleks and doctor has a stalemate with a destructive outcome or a doctor wins but at what cost situation similar to the time war idea. Maybe the doctor needing to amass a force against them to give time while the doctor finds a solution similar to Mass Effects final battle with the Reapers.

The whole thing behind my Dalek series is that it's a world that is being invaded by the Daleks and the Doctor isn't there to save them. I also thought it would be interesting if that bleeds through into the main show. The Doctor encountering a group of survivors from that invasion who had to flee and are now refugees. The doctor having to live with the guilt of knowing that he can't be everywhere at once and save everyone.

Q. Have you read or listened to audiobooks of novelizations of dalek stories, and if you have, what do you think of them? as the novelizations have some major changes here and there.

If the Daleks were never created for the show besides the Cybermen what other aliens do you think could have worked to fill the void as THE big bads of Dr Who?

I think because Dalek victory has been kind of ruined by Victory of The Daleks (by nerfing the doctor's intellect basically) we would need, as you said, a big arc, and honestly, I'd watch the hell out of that. In fact, that should have been series 8's arc. I know we love Rusty, but have the doctor fail to save the humans from either the rejuvinated Rusty or the other Daleks then Dark Water be about the conclusion. Yeah, we'd lose the Cybermen, but I feel, in terms of ideas from existing seasons for analysis, that would be the sort of idea I'd go with.

I hadn't said this before, but I love your style of editing. I'm referring to the glitch effect you use for when you transition between clips. Really gives a sense that it's rare footage being used.

If the Daleks were an enemy species in any other science fiction universe (Star Trek, Star Wars, Dune, Firefly, etc), which do you think they’d work best in? Would they require any significant changes to be as good a fit for that universe as they are for Doctor Who?

The paradigm daleks were not for me, but looking back I do wish we got a proper story with them where they were the only dalek design, to see what they could do. It could feature some of the unexplored gimics like the swappable weapons from the hatch on the back. So long as they went back to the standard new series design after. Maybe with a bronze v paradigm war?
