To The Top Crane | In this video I got some footage of a helicopter power line crew working in the area. They were using the helicopter to hoist materials and personnel to the work area. The crew was working on LIVE power lines. The helicopter has a lift capacity of approximately 1000 pounds.
The amount of skill in this crew was mind-blowing!

I saw that helicopter hovering while headed to the Joe today! Thought about stopping and checking it out and I wish I would have now! I do believe that we have found the perfect outfit to take on all of your cell tower jobs. Over the years of working around heavy equipment operators I have found that there are operators that can operate equipment, then there are those that can put the machine on like a shirt and it moves with them just like a well fitted shirt. This guy doesn't just operate the helicopter, the helicopter is that well fitting shirt and it does everything asked of it without thinking. It's great to watch those guys work! Great video Jimmy, and a lot of those outfits like that have really great guys working with them that are a real class act and are happy to talk shop to the right kind of interested guys.

Talk about a " Sky Crane" When Auto Zone built there new Distribution Center here in Ocala Florida, They used a Modified Black Hawk as there Sky Crane to set the AC units on the roof of the Distribution Center. I am assuming that there was not a carne with a long enough reach to get to the center of the building. Now I had never seen that done before and that was the site to see. Thanks for sharing this video.

Now I been around a few chopper pilots..an that dude has hands of silk!! He an the chopper are sinked as one. An you could see the wind in the tree limbs movement an It dang sure is not this dude's first rodeo!! AN my hats off to these high tension operator/ workers.. one miss calculation one slip an it's lights out for them o.o even though the chopper is technically insulated. When they hook the spark/static hook from the line to the leg of the chopper you can see a charge dissipate to the chopper...0.0 it's unbelievable!!! An like wise when they mount the high tension line same result.. was explain to me the wind flowing thro the rotors create a static electricity. I was a lineman for 1 1/2 years but I couldn't take the height.. was ok on 60 footers but the 90 ~120 footers I would freeze up... although I love your Crane videos this was cool to watch ;-)

Very Cool! That’s the kind of task that certainly warrants a ‘time-motion’ study. Every move, perfectly choreographed bcz every move is costing big bucks! I’m sure before they left the yard that morning, they double, no triple, no quadrupled, no quintuple checked the check-list. Looked like towards the end there that pilot was really puttin’ the spurs to that chopper. Probably starting to run low on fuel.

That was a very cool video. That pilot’s skills are amazing. I sure don’t understand how helicopters work. He doesn’t seem to have to rev up the engine when it lifts off. It just goes up like an elevator.

You realize that while he is flying that machine and doing all the precision work at each end, he isn't sitting back in the seat and looking out the window? He is twisted way to the left, leaning about half way out the left door, and looking straight down. Try driving a car straight down the road while you have the left window rolled down and you are leaning out to watch the line go by beside the car. That is about what he is doing.
