@@thehawk5141 No I don't have to pay anything back. I simply don't make enough income to pay for my college so the government helps for almost all of my tuition. The only time you need to pay it back is when you fail the classes(I think). This is a community college btw where the cost is very low. If it was a well known university, I would have to pay out of pocket for half of the tuition, since financial aid pays only up to a certain amount. Good luck. Don't take this the wrong way; Getting an education is super important, and everyone should(at the very least) have an associates.

The motivation in the first movie was to prepare for Darkseid’s arrival as well. Him wanting to prove himself and go home was an added layer and showed how misguided he was but he did have motivation in the Whedon version. Also not every villain needs some grandiose reason. Thanos and Killmonger are rarities. Most villains are just bad and either want to rule, get riches or destroy which is fine, they’re bad guys. I appreciate they didn’t try to reinvent Darkseid, he’s just a 150% bad dude. He wants the anti-life equation to rule the multiverse and will turn the Universe into hell to get it, why? Because he’s Darkseid and he wants absolute power and control. He’s evil.

He’s a big alien new god in amor with giant horns but when you look at his facial expressions, you just kind of feel bad for him. Inspite of the 100,000 worlds he wrecked for Darkseid.

This scene carries a lot of weight. Steppenwolf demonstrated just how strong he is by recovering the two motherboxes and killing their defenders. And in a 1 on 1 match with one the heroes, Steppenwolf seems to have the upper hand. Darkseid's introduction becomes huge because of that. Despite Steppenwolf's power and strength, there is one person who can brink Steppenwolf to his knees and bring him to expose his head and neck: Darkseid. Snyder cut and DC, you have earned my, a long time Marvel fan, respect and admiration. This is very well done.

The little details within steppenwolf's reaction shows how terrifying darkseid is. Steppenwolf, the man (alien) that soloed hundreds of amazon armies, the champion of the amazons and to be king of atlantis among the rest of the justice league all at once, stumbled backwards in fear and instinctively removes his helmet when he saw darkseid

Notice how Steppenwolf doesn't just bow, he is literally showing Darkseid his bare, unarmed neck, basically allowing Darkseid to kill him with a single blow. I also love how you can clearly see in his facial expressions that he is absolutely terrified. Such amazing improvement over the Whedon version. Also hypes Darkseid up to oblivion. Steppenwolf, the guy Wonder Woman said is the most powerful being she's ever saw outside of Superman, is nothing compared to the actual bad guy, the one feared throughout the whole multiverse. Snyderverse is SO freakin good. If they really never produce Justice League part 2, I swear, fans will do it for them, they will literally kickstart Snyder for a billion dollars to make this happen. Such HYPE!

The sheer amount and weight of Lore in this Snyder cut is so damn good. "The World that fought back" is lowkey chilling to me for some reason.

To me that line and reference to the ancient battle being called "The Defiance" is telling. It says to me that Earth isn't a planet that repelled Darkseid, it's THE planet that repelled Darkseid. That losing is so unusual, that 5000+ years later that single defeat is a well known event. This combined with the antilife equation being hidden in Earth immediately justifies why the New Gods care about this planets fate as anything but another vassal to add to their empire.

I love how throughout the whole movie, Steppenwolf has been this giant, unstoppable ass kicker, single handedly curbstomping a whole battalion of amazons, yet the very second he sees darkseid, he reels back in absolute terror and falls upon his knees in complete submission. If someone can be so undeniably terrifying that even a badass like steppenwolf trembles at the sight of them, so should you.

I was expecting Darkseid to have a sort of Thanos-like vibe in terms of his relationship with his subordinates - you know, a sort of deep respect and loyalty. But that's not what happened. Darkseid is being treated by his servants like he's God himself. Desaad immediately begins praying, the parademons immediately begin to bow, all for just a Skype call (albeit a badass one). Then when his actual image shows up, Steppenwolf just staggers back and doesn't even bow, he just collapses to his knees. Amazing introduction that I wish was done more. He was established as a threat greater than Thanos with one scene.

You are confusing Thanos with the MCU Thanos who has empathy to him. Comic wise Thanos and Darkseid are quite similar personality wise. MCU Thanos is almost nothing like his comic counterpart in terms of motivation and personality. Darkseid here is quite spot on, ruthless, merciless, god-complex, demanding absolute authority, no acceptance of failure or questioning, all-rounded classic evil overlord without a single relatable or redeemable quality that would take away from his all intimidating absolute evilness.

They were condemned for their off characterization, obscenely indulgent action scenes that were too extra, and pacing. @Jonathan Whitehorn that was before he became Darkseid. He was “Uxas”, he didn’t even have the Omega effect, Uxas is a toddler in comparison to Darkseid. Uxas was basically Thanos. A mortal, who was a really tough nut, feared, but could die. After he became Darkseid? Those gods would be crushed like ants.
