Thanks again Dave. Once again a lot of good information. I have been toying with the idea of adding a laser to my machine (Garageworx 18X24). Is the 2.8W laser capable of etching glass, more specifically mirrors? Have you tried any glass yet? The J Tech site states "Engrave on wood, leather, acrylics, and many other materials", don't know if many other materials includes glass. Just thought I would ask if you had tried it.

I use Z-(minus) ON and Z+(plus)OFF inpuls for laser Z-0.001 = ON and Z+0.001= OFF (relay)

Hi Dave, I enjoy your videos thank you. I have the j tech 3.8 with the dac board like you and I can manually adjust the intensity of the laser with the spindle output but when I use Mach 3 gcode from v carve pro, it auto defaults for the highest power even though I set it to a lower setting. Can you advise me of what setting that I need to look into. Thanks jerry.

You should get actual laser safety goggles instead of the red sun glasses. Real safety goggles will have printed on the lens "OD" and the protection number and wavelength.
