In a lot of job board postings for medical receptionist positions, I find that many employers prefer (sometimes require) if the candidate were certified medical assistants as well 😊

TBH not really because some patients don't understand. You'll still have to speak in simple context so they can know what you're talking about.

Aww don’t be nervous! You just have to know what insurance is accepted by your place, what do they cover and how much patients have to pay for copays. Eventually you’ll get the hang of it!

MA is definitely more versatile. But for an admin job most only require a HS diploma. I would say apply to an admin position to get your foot in the door then when you graduate as a MA you can switch positions. At least you’ll have some sort of healthcare experience before graduating so it would be a little easier for you to find a job. I hope this helps 😊

My last MA job was $22 an hour. This career can financially support you if you live below your means and depending on the state you live in. I live in NY I would say no you’ll need 2 jobs. I hope this helped 😊

Hello there! So who are you to tell me I’m not an MA? From what I know you wasn’t the one who signed my degree/certificate. But anyways at your job you’re with your doc everyday so that’s you and your job! Our job environment is not the same. Further more is this the only video you’ve watched on my channel??? MA’s can work front of the office or back of the office. Working the front of office doesn’t disqualify you from being an MA. At my job if the front is short they’ll take an MA to cover the front, and that day I was pulled to cover the front hence the title of my video. Now let’s talk about HIPAA! Do you even know what is HIPAA when you’re talking about it ? You should do your research first before you think about commenting on my video. I did not violate anyone’s privacy in anyone of my videos. I always show people the flow of my day, setting up for procedures, doing labs, showing how to do expirations and inventory etc etc. Also, I am being honest with my position. In numerous of my videos I’ve said I worked as a per diem medical assistant so if you don’t know what that means then that’s your problem! So again go do your research! I worked like 2-3 times a week and I’m mostly covering doctors that needs help or assisting other MA’s if the floor gets busy. Now go have a great day and continue being a good MA😊
