It's never a good sign when your defense of your dad isn't, “He's a gentle soul who would never kill anyone, or hide dead bodies.” and instead is “Nah, dad knows how to dig graves better than that.” The whole family is a circus...and not the fun newspaper kind. 😳

Yes, and I still don’t think his kids would be considered “dark” on his scale, because none of them are questioning him or his narrative. The people who questioned him and/or Lori and their narrative, were the first to go, along with anyone who was “in the way”. JJ was very young and with autism I don’t believe he was questioning anything, but he got in the way, because he was still a minor in Lori’s care. All of Chad’s kids were already adults so they didn’t really get in the way as much.

This man murdered their mother and went straight to another woman's bed. How can they ignore that? Then there was a ridiculous amount of deaths in Lori's family, including her two young children. There's only so much denial you can have before you become just one more liar fighting on behalf of the father. It's hard to sympathize with them when it comes to defending that man and his behavior.

@@bthomson I've a question. Not hate because I don't like the death penalty either. Do either of you have a solution for what to do with the monsters? I've thought long and hard about this. One thing is clear, since they don't have a conscience or empathy or a soul, if you will, they can't be released. They'd continue to rape, torture, kill, and twist and damage others in their path. So what do we do? I can't help but think guarding these people turns some of the guards into sociopaths, and attracts ones that already are. The opposite of what we should want. We need a solution. Not just criticism.

@@bar9092 one could argue that keeping them in cages is just as barbaric as the death penalty. But these humans are barbaric. You're right, innocent humans deserve to be protected from them. Either way, they don't deserve a life where they endanger others. Imagine what the poor children went through. These monsters deserve death as much as Timothy McVeigh did. With him gone, there were no fans either. They destroyed his writings and everything. Bye, jerk.
@rachelreed2516
@rachelreed2516 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how I feel about the death penalty in itself. Just the fact that innocent people have been executed bothers me immensely. However, what would be worse for these people? Because of the publicity around the case, they will put them in segregation. Death would end their suffering, living in a cement room with no human contact would prolong it. I think they should suffer as much as possible.

@@nerdjournal I'm surprised that the state didn't require an autopsy, I think it is required unless someone is on hospice care in some states. Maybe it was a religious thing. These people were master manipulators. I guess they were shamed into believing that they couldn't question the holiness of their dad. Honor your father and your mother is the 4th commandment. How could the daughters stand up against their dad and accused him of something so horrible during his time of grief? That would make the daughters look bad if they were wroung. Plus that life insurance money. Maybe some greed and love of money was in play at the time. Clinging to that social status of being better than is a powerful motivation.

@@savetrump9120 this area is so rural that the autopsy issue is mostly based on cost. It's just not common enough that the tiny city/county wants to pay for them (they have to send the bodies to the big city, so it's even got added costs to what people in the city would pay). So, if things "seem ok", they just ask the family what they want. The professional on-scene only had to have a HS diploma, I believe. Not even necessarily a medical professional. Small towns.... 🤷🏻

It's actually fairly common for small cults like this to form in Utah and surrounding states, but very few of them kill anyone. The way it works is someone knowledgeable and charismatic (?) starts teaching standard LDS doctrine to a few followers but spices it up, makes it more 'interesting' and adds their own insight and maybe 'prophesies'. This guy Daybell sort of starts with a weird fan-fiction version of church doctrine and then keeps making it weirder and apparently killed people.

This case had me up in arms. I can't believe how delusional one can become. Belief is a powerful thing, combined with manipulation can be disastrous. She was deemed incompetent, unfortunately. Chad's children obviously believed their father. It's true that the more trust you have in a person, the least likely you are to believe in a person's deception.

So true - i had a brother-in-law who is evil personified and has got away with murder of three wives. He was never been charged for murder and his daughters still support him.

I would love to see the conversations between Chad and Lori when Tammy passed away, I wonder if Lori gave her condolences to a mourning Chad….And his kids obviously don’t know their dad at all!

I'm sure she gave him her condolences. On bended knees.

Good morning, Dr. Grande! And thank you for laying this one out for us. I so appreciate your intellect, your ability to consider divergent complexities and lay them out so we can get a basic view of the facts that we can build on as further information becomes available. And I love your shirts.

Chad told the police he didn't know Lori very well and didn't have her phone number. This was after they were married...🙄

I LOVE all the "cacti" decor in your background, they are so cute and really tie the theme together in an aesthetic way!

Of course they believe dad. It's the religion. Lori will never be released from custody, either.

Son told interviewer his dad said he was "protecting" the kids and couldn't say where they were when they went missing.
