Hey guys! I am super hyped for the DCS: Mirage F1! It will be an awesome addition to both the Blue side AND the Red Side in DCS! I can't wait to fly high speed recon over Lebanon and the go harass Tankers in the Gulf and maybe shoot down some IRIAF F-14A's! Gonna be COOL!

Cant wait for this, I work on F1s here in the states for an adversary contract, so it will be nice to have my chance to finally fly one lol

During my childhood, I saw the Mirage F1 CR of the 2/33 "Savoie" from the BA 112 of Reims, fly over my house almost every week. And time to time, trained with the belgian F16. It really was a magnificent plane, and I can't wait to fly it in DCS 😍

Hello there - I have met Commandant Dick Lord 'Vlamgat', in 2001, at the University of Stellenbosch, my alma mater. The University has a Mirage F1CZ in the engineering deparment - I have sat in it, though with the seat-cushion parachutes not installed - ouch ! Otherwise a really comfortable, very analogue cockpit. Looking forward to this module VERY MUCH, will be flying it as either an F1CZ or the mud-mover F1AZ as soon as those skins appear, the latter of which has an accuracy of the F-15E in terms of laser accuracy, according to the commandant...from his personal experience. And, the F-1CZ was the dominant air superiority fighter in Southern Africa through the 1970's - 1990's.

Indeed the Greek Mirage F-1CG were armed with AIM-9P Sidewinders and since early '90's they had been upgraded to the AIM-9P4 variant. The aircraft served in Greece from 1974 to 2003. The Spanish upgrade Mirage F-1E must be very interesting, equipped with the more powerful engine M-53-2 which was used initially by the pre-production Mirage-2000. The Mirage F-1M was the upgrade for the Royal Airforce of Morocco featuring the RDM-3 radar of the upgraded Mirage-2000E, and is therefore capable of launching the R-530D ( 40 kilometres of range and with snap-down capability ) instead of the R-530F ( 35 kilometres range and no snap-down option ). The F-1M variant has a slightly improved 9K-50 engine that produces a thrust of 7500 kilogramms instead of the 7200 kilogramms of the initial F-1C version ( the Spanish F-1E produced a thrust of 8500 kilogramms ). AVIODEV merrits therefore a special praise unlike RAZBAM that issued ONE single variant of Mirage -2000 with limited air-to-ground capabilities whereas with relatively little effort they could have coupled this module with the Mirage-2000E variant, that could use a whole arsenal of missiles and stand-off weapons being compatible with laser pods. Not to mention the Heatblur Simulations that left the AJS-37 without BVR missiles whereas the R-27 ( the equivalent of the British Skyflash - an upgraded variant of AIM-7E ) could have been launched by the AJ-37 with much simplier cockpit and HUD functionality than the AJS-37 ( they just had only to detract functions ! ). Therefore VIVA AVIODEV ! As far as the HUD of the Mirage F-1C is concerned, this is not just a "viser" it has a lot of symbols ( attitude indicator, altitude, compass, and flight path marker with vertical fin ) and it is definitely more complex than the F-5E. The upgraded versions must have more interesting HUD symbolology indeed kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fJaRi7Cczb3dl3k.html at 1:35 and at 2:30 one can see some details of the HUD of Greek Mirage's (F-1C early versions ). The French Mirage F-1E at least were equipped with the Cyrano IVM radar that offered additional air-to-ground capabilities ( CCIP, CCRP ) to the pure-blooded interceptor Mirage F-1C. Probably there must be laser pods available with this very version. After all after the introduction of the Mirage-2000 in the French Airforce the Mirage F-1 assumed mainly ground-attack duties. The two members of the crue do not have distinctive duties as in the aircraft mentioned above . It is merely a training version with trainer and trainee and therefore its both cockpits are identical. Interesting would have been the Mirage-2000D - the twin-seated ground-attack version of the French aircraft in which the crue members have distinctive roles DO YOU HEAR THAT RAZBAM!

Just a couple of notes: - The little joystick behind the throttle (what you confused with air supply) is actually the radar cursor control stick, just like the Mirage III´s, same on the throttle, the small "thumb" lever is the speed brake, press to open, release close, press and slide back, locks open. the cockpit open/close/lock is the same of all the mirage family, M-III, M-V, F-1 and 2000´s (yea, the same as Razbam M2000.) The rugged textured panels are intended to be anti glare.

Ex Saffa here and recall many absolutely awesome memories of this superb jet whilst it was in SAAF service! Very low full afterburner beat ups being one of them. Also one of the nicest looking fighters ever!! Ectatic to see this coming out!!!

Actually the cockpit is not in Spanish but in French. 'Cap' on the autopilot is the french word for 'Heading'

I agree that I would want a two seater hornet and viper, even with tandem cockpits it would be really cool just to "take control from your friends" if needed and give them a great first impression. It was asked if trugrit where going to make a tandem typhoon but they said it would be useless...

Vlamgat -> Flame Ass. My father worked on them(AZ variant) at 1 squadron, South African Airforce. Looking forward to it. We need a huuuuuge Southern Africa map that includes at least Waterkloof and Swartkop of South Africa, Namibië, all the way up to Angola. Then we can use the upcoming Aermacchis and Mirage III or 5 along with the F1 in accurate historical wars.

My dad used to scramble these planes for the SAAF, we have one of these at our muesuems. Its amazing such a work of art by far my favourite. Huge its a beuaty in real life

they flew with great performance over the Aegean in A/A interception missions from 1974 up to 2003 and they were gradually replaced by the Mirage 2000 Cs (EGM).

The Spanish "tradition" of having at least half of its fleet of European-made combat aircraft is due to the fact that the main military threat to this country is represented by the neighboring Kingdom of Morocco, whose special links with the United States mean that this country prohibits the use of weapons of its manufacture against them. This has the result that the Spaniards always have to keep weapons from other sources to protect themselves from the Moroccan threat.

Pretty sure the F1-C can also carry the super 530F, they were already attaching them to Mirage 3 under the center pylon at that time

This is great. My personal wish list includes the Mirage III, but now we’re going to have two versions of the Mirage line I understand it’s probably not likely. I remember Mirages and F1-11s flying over my house when I was a kid, heading to the Amberley air base. So I have a personal interest. :D.

I've seen hundreds of times the mirage F1 in the Spanish Air Museum, I'm so hyped for it, is such a pretty and quite small plane for all the ordenance it can carry. It always amazes me how huge is the F-4 Phantom in comparison with the Mirage, the Viggen and the Landsen that the museum have on display.

The Mirage F1 has a separate controller handle for the radar. It’s the one you thought was the oxygen connector.

The CMS control in the M2k is right knee; i don't know what you went on by saying "further left" the yellow and black lever thing on left side of the cockpit is the canopy jetisson the Buttons above the MFD are Autopilots, "cap" means "heading" in french, so heading hold "Regulation Secours" means "emergency regulator" and it's the emergency throttle Nice video tho, as a French, i am proud of this plane and i will enjoy it as much as the M2K and Tomkitty nice vid, thanks !

Very beautiful jet indeed, one of only 3 i really anticipate in DCS.

The panel you were thinking was the radar panel was the volume controller for the radios. This is indicated by the red and green tops of the two top right knobs. UHF and VHF radios are, at least in the French Air Force, referred to as red and green radios. The radar controls if they weren't integrated into the MFD/HOTAS entirely is probably behind the throttle. In the screenshot at 34 minutes there's what looks like a placard and knob with 60, 30, and I'm guessing 15 hidden under the knob. I'm betting that's the 'manual' range selector for the radar. Great breakdown of the rest of the screen shots really looking forward to flying the F1 in DCS, hopefully she is close to early access release!

The old South African ones have been sold off to that Aggressor Squadron, about 18 months ago, and have already been flying already in the role.

34:15 this is the audio volume panel. The radar panel is behind the throttle with a "radar stick". It's closer to the Mirage III than the Mirage 2000 in that regard.

I think it's the most beautiful fighter ever designed. The landing gear just looks awesome, the sharp nose it just looks so slick. Its too bad the performance was lacking. IDK if it was under powered needed canards maybe the wings were lacking lift but I don't care its just so sexy! Love it.......

flamgat is afrikaans for fire ass, well that is a very direct translation. it was what ground crew affectionately called all our mirages, and later the Cheetah, a kfir relative.

I think all that texture on the walls and instrument panels, its just for design. I recall my father's old car, and old cars in general, that were build around the time this jet was, at least in Europe, had that texture around everywhere. The side of the doors and the dash board had this plastic like material that had a similar texture on them. So yeah, I think its the material they used, not really thinking about having a grippy texture, more like a design decision, to look nice.

I am know a story of an Iraqi F1 that tried to shoot down a F-111 but he got suprised by the ability of the F-111 to pull out of a dive and the F-1 pilot whas never able to keep up with the F-111 and crashed into the ground.

One thing I see wrong that I hope they will address before release is the shape and length of the nose radome. It is currently too long and slightly off in overall shape.

If you are looking for a turnfighter, you are going to be disappointed because it realy wasn't if its modeled right ofcourse. You are going to be beaten on PvP servers. I experienced this aircraft as an excellent CAS platform (with JTAC) .
