Here I show how I setup and take down the Quantum frame from the Omanik Factory. I also give a review, as well as go over some of the finer details. I tried lol.
THINGS I FORGOT TO MENTION:
1. They will also send you chocolate (I'm serious).
2. When I say I hold it one-handed, I do not mean that in the literal sense. My "one-handed" way of holding the frame involves me with my back propped up against a wall, resting the bottom scroll rod on my stomach, and holding the top of the frame with my non-stitching hand.

Hi Kyle. Great job. I just got my frame and I wanted to make sure I was setting it up properly. I ordered my frame on March 1 and it was delivered today March 18. I had great communication from DHL and Omanik all along the way. This has been a great experience and thanks so much for your video.

Great review and demonstration, Kyle. I love my Omanik frames and don't use anything else, especially because I can get great tension on my fabric. I learned a couple of things from watching you get things set up. I just have one suggestion. A few months ago someone posted a picture on Instagram of one of her screws snapped in two from normal use. That made me a little nervous about how I was using my frame. Since then I always make sure that the holes on the horizontal bars line up (both either up or down, never one up and one down) and I try to minimize the distance that I have to extend the screws. My theory is that if the holes don't line up and the screws are extended too far the tension will introduce a torque that will cause the screws to fail eventually. I also loosen tension when I am finished stitching so that the screws don't remain under tension for an extended period of time. It often takes me two or three tries to get the distance between the bars right. If I don't like what I have I will unroll one side and pull the fabric a little to reposition the bar. Once again, thanks for the demonstration!

Oh, so that's why everybody's telling me to loosen the tension when not in use. It's hard on the frame! Thanks for the tip dude! No body tells you that, they just say "oh, loosen the tension when not in use" then don't say why. Well, now that I'm $300 down, (just ordered mine) I'm taking care of my Quantum!!!❤🧡💛Oh, the other advice I get is lightly tighten the fabric with the screws, but use the side stretchers to put horizontal tension to get that drum tight you like. If you bought the side bars with that sort of hardware that is. With the smaller frames, it's probably not necessary. I bit the bullet and bought the 31" one sense I do not work on anything over 21" wide. So I got the vertical bars with the metal hardware on them.

@@KyleStitchingInSound Please consider the Monstrik over the Lowery. Price difference definitely worth it especially for the size frame you have. The frame will droop in the Lowery due to weight, size and only being held by one side. The frame adapter purchase plus the Lowery stand and accessory module (+ extender rod if needed) will drive price up very close to Monstrik with accessory module. Monstrik much more adaptable.

This has been a great video. I have been noticing several videotubers useing them and have been contemplating buying one. Why did you select that width? Were there other width choices?
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 5 жыл бұрын
I chose that width because most of my projects have fabric that are just under 31". And yes, I state at the end of the video that the width ranges anywhere from 30cm to 110cm.

@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 5 жыл бұрын
They're in centimeters on the website, so you'll just have to convert them to inches. My 80cm x 15cm frame translates to roughly 31in x 7in. For the prices, I just googled "Estonian currency to USD" and typed in the amount shown on the site to convert to USD.

Great explanation and tutorial. I want to order some frames. I’m not sure what size to get. I’m thinking of using it for Mirabilia and HAEDs. What do you think of the size you have?
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 5 жыл бұрын
The size I have is perfect for most of my projects! The only one it wouldn’t fit would be my HAED. It’s the perfect size for everything else though! Depending on how big your HAED is, id maybe recommend the 100cm frame
@hookingandstitching4876
@hookingandstitching4876 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great review Kyle, I’m looking at getting one of these frames for stitching my HAED- but I do have a question- when choosing what size to order- is the size for the side stretchers (15cm in your case) the minimum or the maximum? As in do yours extend out further than 15cm? Or is that the maximum they will extend out to? I hope I’ve explained that ok. Thanks x
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 5 жыл бұрын
You explained perfect! 15cm is the length of them NOT extended. They can extend to almost double the length!
@desireeehleiter8835
@desireeehleiter8835 5 жыл бұрын
Kyle, I really enjoyed watching this, and I have totally decided to get myself one. I have one question, you said you ordered the 80x15 unit. Does the 80 measurement refer to usable length of the scroll bars? In other words, on the ends there are the square parts where the nuts fit in. Is the entire scroll bar 80 cm, or is the 80 cm referring to the round part in between the square parts. I hope my question makes sense. Thank you for making videos. I really enjoy how real you are.
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 5 жыл бұрын
Your question makes perfect sense! The measurements refer to the usable length of the scroll bars! (I may have just measured to make sure haha.) And then the 15cm refers to the amount of space when the side tensioners AREN'T extended! I'd say you could get almost 27cm (and that's a rough rough rough estimate) of workspace when you fully extend the side bars :) I hope my answer made sense :P

I find the pins are really loose after inserting the pins so that the material, even though I have made sure it is lined up, will move and be crooked. How can I keep the pins from allowing the material to move so freely (I am using 32 ct evenweave)
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound 4 жыл бұрын
I think what I would recommend would to be adding another piece fabric where you put in your stitching fabric to give the pins a little extra grip. But not too thick of a piece!

It's clearly a knock off of the Millennium Frame. The Millennium Frame is the original version of this type of frame, and is all wood (beech) and hand made. No plastic parts at all.
@KyleStitchingInSound
@KyleStitchingInSound Жыл бұрын
Similar yes. I would not call them a knockoff. These are very well built and affordable. And because they’re factory made, you don’t need to wait over a year to get them. I get that people love the Millennium frame, but the Quantum Frame is of excellent quality. It shouldn’t be judged because some of the parts are plastic and factory-made. It should be judged on its performance. And it works.
