As a Freddy defender I have to say that my enjoyment of him boils down to his satisfying m1 recovery animation as well as the whole “dream” aesthetic which I find pleasant on the eyes

I enjoy playing Knight first, for the projected camaraderie amongst myself and my various goons, and second, for the overwhelming "Classic Scooby Doo Villain" vibes. There's nothing remotely scary about the character, he looks like he belongs in a Spirit Halloween next to all the cartoon bat and pumpkin window decals, he's adorable.

Wraith is *the killer* that i hate the most as a survivor. It's not much related to his power but the fact that literally 90% of wraith players i see are noed killers who camp at the hook and hard hard tunnel. So now every time i hear his bell i'm like "fuck, not again"

I main Pinhead and I enjoy it because its almost a different game mode. The match is about you vs the survivors fighting for control of the box. If your not playing around the box he's just a killer with a sub par power.

Completely agree that Nemesis is goofy/funny. When he misses his basic M1, the animation just looks like he’s saying “Aw shucks”. I laugh every time and it gets me hit.

When Nemesis lunges and misses, he honestly looks like Superman punching. Cracks me up every time. And when Michael or Demo drop down from a building when vaulting, idk, something about it is hilarious to me. The way they look, it's just goofy as hell.

Pig and Wraith being more fun than demo is less believable than hollow earth.

Hot take i love facing Michael. I think hes one of the only few killers in dead by daylight that can actually scare you. Plus the addons makes it more terrifying because you dont know if he can just straight up insta kill you. But i can see why he isnt fun to go against but personally i think thats fun

As a doctor main, I can say there is a certain sadistic joy in hitting shocks, because if you get a team that knows to predrop, you can mindgame the predrop and that extra level of skill expression is always going to be fun. While his base kit isnt super exciting, I'd argue he's extremely fun just for the sheer build variety you can run with him. No other killer gets nearly as much value out of TR perks as doctor, and dark devotion + distressing in combo with his crazy ass addons is the ultimate way of screwing with the survivors, and it never feels overpowered (except for on midwich) because he has to weigh when he wants to static to potentially delay gens or find people. As a survivor, I'll admit hes not the most fun to go against purely because the people I see playing him run basic ass builds. If more people went for creatively evil doc builds then I think we'd all have more fun going against him.

I didn't even know Nemesis had a rep as a "tunneling" killer. The t-bags make more sense now. I mostly play him for the tricky whip shots and because he's the closest thing I'm gonna get to a pet class (besides Knight but that's too evil).

as the only living legion main, i have to point out that they do have some mindgames you can play when it comes to using their vault. it's the little stuff, like backing up after standing under a palette only to vault it and get your hit in that makes my brain produce dopamine. plus, you can bodyblock by vaulting a palette, which is pretty rad.

When I first started playing blight I used to use all the broken add ons like compound and Alc ring, now I just play blighted crow and rat because speed is fun

The other day I had a scratch mirror myers in rpd and it was probably the funnest game I’ve had in a while just because he understood he was going against 4 other people so he was just trying to make the game fun and get jump scares on us 😂😂 Ik that’s not the standard it’s the exception but that game was pretty memorable for me

I like playing as The Knight and the main reasons for this are his unique power that allows him to pressure 2 parts of the map at once, I also love his visual and sound design.

About nemesis, you can actually hit over windows if the survivor crouches. Its a tech that works in all tile windows and some main buildings. Doesn't work in shack unless theres some prop from the map that increases the survivor height like trash from auto heaven. Maybe I'll make a reddit post teaching people about it, Im the one made the video about his hitbox coming top to bottom

Dredge is easily my S tier fun killer. Most people seem to miss his macro-gameplay with Nightfall, especially while someone is hooked and survivors are forced to take an action, and utilizing your stealth/insta teleports to cut off routes and create panic as people try to recover/save. Survivors very often aren't ready to run into you if you teleport ahead to a locker they can't hear/appear in front of them. Specifically revealing I have Devour Hope during Nightfall is by far the greatest time in the game, ambushing from the darkness while they desperately try to find the totem while not being able to see shit. That shit is glorious. Very obvious lockers next to gens being locked is honestly a small grief point that isn't difficult to circumvent, as shifting your routing a bit further away and breaking certain ones as you naturally move removes a lot of that frustration. One mistake I think a lot of people make is hyperfocusing on the teleport, or doing it too often, and not actually patrolling normally enough to punish people out of position/break a few useful locks in the meantime. If you do happen to get a bad locker map, you just gotta re-adjust your playstyle and ambush from weird angles from the ones you do have, there's definitely a skill ceiling there I enjoy. Smaller point, Dredge has a very easy time finding the 4th survivor to 4k, since you can abuse your 3rd kill for a few moments, keep them slugged, and sit in a locker next to them to activate Nightfall before hooking them. If the 4th guy does decide to come pick up, they die. If not, you're now the fastest killer in the game to either find hatch 1st or hear their heartbeat.

Playing against Freddy is one of the DbD experiences of all time. No once will convince me otherwise. (Along with Trickster and SM)

Freddy to me is about using the oblivious status effect to confuse people when u teleport. Ill go entire matches without using snares cause im trying to makes this play style work. Problem is his kit really doesnt support it so u just have to be ready to play a bad killer.

I loved old ruin Undying meta with Freddy and tinkerer for the jumpscare if they're awake, just go for chases on anyone around gens and go for hooks, ruin would reward chasing them off gens vs camping/tunneling

As a former Freddy main the reason I loved playing as him was the teleport. It allows to do some Interesting fakes, when chasing a good survivor you can just switch to a new one instantly, using the teleport in chase is EXTREMELY satisfying, after hooking you can just tp to a gen and start a chase, you can put dream snares thru walls allowing for a little bit of engagement, when going against pepegas they usually run into you because of the lullaby. I also like going against him as i know whether or not I can make another loop with my xp with the snares.

I'm extremely offended by the fact that demo is not at least A tier, it's my favorite killer to play as and against

Stepping into a trap is one of the worst feelings in the game, trapping someone is one of the best feelings.

IMO going against a mediocre Nurse - someone who has a general idea of blink distances but is less familiar with how her power works around obstacles & isn't as good at winning mindgames - is one of the funnest things in DBD. the types of mindgames you can use against those kind-of-new-but-not-super-experienced nurse players are different from everything else in the game and I love that variety you don't see anywhere else its far more frequent the nurse player is either good or bad, though, so overall i have to agree with your placement here.

Im surprised artist is that much higher than knight when the gameplay is BASICALLY the same. You either shift w because their anti loop is so insanely strong and their low mobility, or you go down. If you're in the corner you get hit, if theres a connected loop you can wait till they have their power back up and rinse repeat. They ignore pallets because their power will just hit you, stuff like that. They share so many similarities that I despise that i would put artist in the same tier as the knight.

For your enjoyment of the game, I'm glad you aren't stuck in MMR hell like I am where half the killers are Weskers who've gotten good enough that you can't really loop against him while your teammates have apparently played a collective 5 games of DBD and will do no gens and on the off chance they do gens while you're being chased they all get off of them as soon as the Wesker inevitably decides to camp you at 5 gens. If they decide to leave, they will go just far enough away that they can come back to the hook with both bounds in time to completely ignore the unhooker and tunnel. Each day I'll get like one game while I'm not annoyed by anything and I'll be in the zone and loop the killer until they leave me, but if I'm against Wesker or a killer decides to needlessly be a dick to someone, I get annoyed enough that I'll keep playing the slot machine that is match making even though I know I'm never going to have a good chase or game after that

I genuinely love going against Nemi. My first dbd match as survivor was against him and my first game of looping a killer til they gave up was against Nemi, i like him lots dodging the tentacle is fun.

im happy scott recognizes to extreme fun in sniper artist gameplay, thats the only correct way to play her imo. i usually dont even shotgun with her (unless theres direct los), i send a single bird to injure a swarmed survivor, so its even more high risk, but the satisfaction is also greater when my prediction is correct and i get an injure/down

About what you say for the Nurse, that's why I have a lot of fun to be honest with her : you can do anything with her. You want to have the strongest build ever and destroy the survivors ? You can (and most do). You want to have an Undetectable/Oblivious build and do some jumpscares on in-doors map ? You can (I freaking love doing it). You can even play blinkless (or almost) and be an M1 Killer, it's still fun imo ^^

I used to main Myers when Bald Dwight was common. Having a big ass bald head to stab tier 3 into was so funny .It was litterally a big target. i would run unrellenting and just mash lunges as i approach the bald dwight across map.

Honestly never understood how people can hate playing against a killer as a whole, there's so many different playstyles, and not everyone is going to play the exact same. I don't personally have a killer below B tier in terms of enjoyment to face.

Other than Demo which in my opinion A tier both sides this is definitely the most accurate tier list atm.

I play no add-on Blight only, because I hate how powerful he is with add-ons so I hope the survs I go against are happy.

I love trickster 😭 I have ADHD and something about having to try and hit a bunch of knives in a row and play around cover in loops is fun to me. I also like the bouncing knives but God I hate playing him on maps like RPD or Lerys. And there's the one in a million times where Main Event is up at a relevant time and you get to down two or three people. Most tricksters are miserable to go against cause they proxy camp/tunnel. He's got a soft spot in my heart.

9:14 playing against huntress is great - but if they have the iri head addon it equals an immediate DC for me. It always turns into 1 of 2 play styles: proxy camping and immediately flying to the hook as soon as somebody saves, or absolutely refusing to M1 and just holding hatchet until they get right up behind you.

What you said about knowing when Huntress will likely go for a cross map can apply directly to Artist. There are particular times she's launching birds, post-hook is a typical play for all Artist types

I main Artist and enjoy going for snipes. I rarely even shotgun birds at range unless I really want a confirm. Usually, I go single shots cause it's quicker. I go no add-ons to practise, and have lots of map pressure. Aura reads help facilitate it too. If I do go anti-loop it's more cause I am pushed to that. Been looking to try Singularity as well cause range and map control reasons too

Solid Nurse take. Nurse has become a palette cleanser to me, especially if I decide on aura reading perks. It feels like straight cheating with aura reading; it needs attention, 6% reduced duration or something. Anyway, if I get a series of bad matches, or just have a break from WilsonBuilds, I'll pull out Nurse Versing Nurse has a curve: _Baby Nurses_ aren't exciting to face (but, are adorable). _Expert Nurses_ aren't too exciting, there really isn't much to be done against that. It's the _Intermediate Nurse_ I find the most fun to face, where she's almost figured out another level of survivor pathing against her. Feels like you can still mind-game with her

I say this every time I get the occasion to, but Trapper is extremely fun to go against imo, his power at least. (basement Trapper is the worst thing), he's the only non stealth killer that forces you to be careful with your movement, the constant feel of fear of stepping into a trap is thrilling. Being chased and having nothing left so you just go to the nearest window saying "I don't know if he trapped that window, fuck it, that's all I have!" is very fun!

People really underestimate Michael Myers. The key to this killer is to behave exactly like him, literally. The same goes for Nemesis too. Behave exactly like Nemesis and keep tracking that survivor until they are down.

The most fun killers for me is myers, specifically infinite tier 3, hillbilly, nemesis, wesker, huntress, deathslinger, and lastly pyramid head. My personal favorite of all is billy

I agree with a lot of this list but I have some counterpoints (that are also mostly just my justifications for my opinions) mostly on killers I play as/mained in the past or like playing against as survivor. Wraith could be put another tier up because I find the window and pallet minigame some survivors do to be fun (quick vaulting it so they can't break/vault and also sitting at a pallet playing chicken to make the wraith fully uncloak). I always have a super interactive and fun chase with Wraith because of using that type of stuff to my advantage on either side. Hag I think has much more counterplay than most people think at loops and I find the game of chicken with the traps to be fun. Like yeah it's a 50/50 but not necessarily always depending on the scenario and if you are ballsy enough to run right through a trap or not. Couldn't agree more on legion. Another point i'd bring up is that frenzy isn't always a free hit and the easiest games i've ever played on legion were when people just let me hit them and ignored frenzy entirely. There are loads of window/pallet jukes and tech you can do to avoid getting hit by a legion in frenzy (which sets them back massively) I also agree on Artist and think there's much more counterplay to "throw bird down at loop and get free hit" than people think. It's similar to hag to me but a little more fun cause sometimes the birds aren't a hit even when they hit you. I can understand where you put Singularity but I personally as a current Hux main would put him higher. I think there's much more counterplay on survivor side once you understand the exact mechanics of his overclock and drones through playing as him. There's loads of little tricks I manage to use against them on survivor that wastes loads of time. But I can understand if we're taking the average player experience into account.

Everything about Bubba is hilarious. The way he waddles around, his funny tantrums lol. Even when he's spinning around and revving while facecamping looks ridiculous

For Knight, assassin hits are so satisfying to get! Take treated blade (+1 assassin), dried horsemeat (+4 seconds chase) and if u predict survivor position correctly, it's pretty much guaranteed hit + deep wound, unless they reach a banner. So the only thing u have is to make sure survivor runs far away from banner and then u can go and harass another survivor. Wreaking havoc on these rabbits was never as fun!

kinda glossed over Pyramidheads cage camping being nerfed but I guess it's still pretty much the same, except you need double range to be far enough away for a double hit out of cage

I personally find Legion fun too, but on both sides. As killer, running fast and stabbing survivors is fun, and nothing feels better than getting that fifth hit while you know the rest of their team is mending, making no progress on the generators. On the survivor side, splitting up and knowing when you need to make distance early is pretty fun. Since scratch marks are gone in frenzy, if you're the first in a chain and they don't frenzy right behind you, you can do some dumb play and they'll have no idea where you went. Combo this with certain perks that are fun to use but not all that impactful (such as autodidact) and Legion games can prove to be really interesting. Legion is also one of the few killers in the game that has good power synergy with an extensive amount of perks. Terror radius perks, injury perks, gen kick perks, stun perks, exhaustion perks... They all can be used to some extent. Demogorgon is another killer that can build up significantly different sets, but Legion takes that to another level. I think the problem most people have is that they're too caught up on meta perks and have no creativity. Most Legion's run gen slowdown, and most survivors run second chance perks. Slowdown Legion is boring for survivors, and second chance is boring for Legion. But when you have an overly altruistic build as survivor, Legion's frequent injuries let your build shine. When Legion runs an exhaustion build, he'll have some of the quickest chases imaginable.

Turning radius addon blight is so much fun because nobody expects you to be able to hit the flicks you can hit, it's especially neat against players who know blight's usual counters because you can hit in so many places an alc ring blight can't lmao

Honestly, I think what makes Myers so frustrating to go against is you get punished for your teammates playing poorly so heavily. Genuinely, I think Myers needs a slight rework in that aspect. I genuinely think they can add a global bar/circle (that killer and survivors see) on the HUD that shows how much "stalk" a survivor has left in them. Kind like what ghost-face's stalk looks like. I ALSO think that Myers should get some big buffs to compensate for that. Like for one, a nice QoL change for him would be you need to press M2 when you have full stalk to activate his T3 as well as get rid of his debuffs in T1. Make him just a normal M1 killer in Tier 1 so when you get those really good survivors you're not just a way worse trapper for the first minute or 2 of the game. Maybe don't show the stalk progress until he gets out of Tier 1 as well, if that first change is implemented. I think this change would be good. It wouldn't "buff" SWF at all since they can easily relay that info already with decent timing. It'd just make solo/duo queue against him less terrible. I do think he'd still need more buffs to compensate that change but I'm not quite sure what to give him. I also think having stalk on survivors slowly reset over time would be good. A good downside for his Iri/Tombstone add-ons with that change would be stalk doesn't slowly recover over time, GIVING OBSERVANT/SMART SURVIVORS A WAY TO KNOW THAT HE HAS IT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES (thats my biggest gripes with the tombstone add-ons)

It's really satisfying to me as pinhead to land a chain on top of someone, stopping a heal with a chain, or hitting a chained survivor beyond a pallet because they were greedy. It's not satisfying going against having the chains break really fast (map based) or pin heads who rely on chain hunt

I think the most surprising one on this list is Freddy being D tier. Yeah he does feel pretty boring to play for the most part (except kinda pallet freddy is pretty satisfying), but he does not feel bad at all to play against anymore after so many changes. He synergized so well with ruin and pop in the past especially with his teleport, and then he could easily tunnel because borrowed time didnt work if you were asleep. And then being oblivious in the dream world was annoying (yeah he had a lullaby but it was pretty quiet and hard to tell how close he was compared to a normal terror radius), but that's all gone now. Yeah he still synergizes decently well with 4 slowdown perks but not to the same extent as before, and the visual terror radius makes it a lot easier to keep track of him in the dream world. And then his anti-loop power just isn't very oppressive. Yes there are some loops where he is basically guaranteed a hit if he does what you said but not really every loop especially compared to like clown. And then on top of that, if you're awake he just has no power. So you end up with a killer who can teleport quickly across the map (so large maps not as annoying for him), has natural game slow down in his kit (because survivors have to go across the map to wake up), but in exchange for that, he doesn't have the best anti-loop. I also kind of like the choice the survivor has: stay asleep and be in more danger while getting chased, OR spend time to wake up and be safer, or intentionally miss a skill check on your generator to wake up. I would legit rather play against freddy than most of the killers in dbd. Now on the flip side, I have barely played as freddy but yeah he seems really boring. Like literally all of his add ons are just useless (except pallets which can be fun and a couple of rarer ones) and using his power isn't exciting. So A/B to go against and D/C to play as, so I'd say like B/C tier

So I want to like the Onryo - it's true that she doesn't chase that much, but I actually like the minigame of managing the TV's... But the frustrating part is that I've never needed to learn TV spawns and spending a minute searching for a TV that's turned on so I can take a tape from it is really providing her WAY too much slowdown.. and if you wait until you need a tape to start looking, you're basically dead. I really think if they reveal the auras of TVs to survivors who have at least 1 full condemn stack inside or outside of some radius, and they make that radius more forgiving the more stacks you have, and maybe they bring back condemn on hooking to make her want to hook... Like even though she's in a bad spot rn, I feel like they're close to something unique and cool, at least for me. ... but yeah, for now she's just really rough to go against and has some playstyles that really stink.

Trappers pretty fun to go against you just have to locate the basement and never go down near it otherwise it's an m1 with no chase power

I'd disagree about playing legion. I also like going against him cause you can spin him and he makes the little argh sound if he misses, plus legion chicken, but getting a down after 4 stabs is SO satisfying, not to mention running around the map fast as shit is very fun.

as a sadako main it's hard to judge her fun when going as her. Her new cooldowns for tp's and tvs in general alone make her prolly more fun, but before, with the iri tape, you were able to just fly across the map istantly, you were the queen of unpredictable, which she still is, I can literally tp to a random tv mid chase, come back to the same spot I left the guy at and he will be standing at a pallet or a gen not paying attention, a free down a lot of the time, so that didn't change. But this patch took the ,,oh look they got condemn, they must be around here'' part of her, which was pretty fun as well, you needed to think as oposed to the survs going against her, before you'd just ignore her all together and that was that, now it's the opossite, the sadako can now just chase as much as she wants and still be oppresive as hell, and I like that, I like the chase, and when a situation gets dire, I preasure condemn. She's versatile now, but there is unfortunately always room for toxicity if you choose to do so, in that aspect, I think she's very hard to balane, you want condemn to be the way it is, just not like this, you know? I'd make condemn rates go even higher, maybe like a full stack with a tp, but make the condemn make a player exposed instead and the quick mori animation would send them to a hook, just to not take away her fast paced gameplay but not punish people as much and make them condemn mori-able once on death hook and make the killer instinct of condemned guys way longer for her to be able to even use it. I think that's a better thing to do for her than what it is now. Rewarding but not punishing as much.

I almost never do the boring Knight tap m2 at a loop and the survivor runs away thing. I always hold m2 and try to predict WHERE they will run away. Also going long patrols towards gens, people healing under hook, just creates chaos and chasing multiple people like that is a multitasker's dream. Playing him in that way is very fun imo and playing against Knights that actually play like this is fun too as I almost always bait them by running one way and literally running in a different place, sometimes even into the Knight and losing his guard and chase completely. He's similar to artist imo in that way where there's a common boring play style and an actually fun way to play him that no one uses.

Gotta love the Vami-Mami Plague! I like to run the machine gun plague. No cooldown on purge if you use short shots

It's just kinda like "Well that guy is dead now, cool." Playing against a bubba who goes into the basement right off the bat and insidious camps the basement chest is hilarious. When someone goes down there to touch his stuff and dies I always laugh my ass off.
