I spent money on all of these DVDs when they came out and I love the fact that Maiden are now letting everyone see them for free. One of the few bands who embraced the internet's approach to content and saw that fighting it would be pointless from day one. Iron Maiden are the greatest band of all time because of the music and also because of who they are as people.

In 1999 Maiden sold the rights to all of their back catalog to a Chinese investor for 15 years. Explains the 2015 remasters, my point is whether or not their music was online for free they were already paid.

@Coy Leigh I can no longer find the video at least from search. But it was an interview from 1999 when Bruce and Adrian had just joined back and I recall Bruce saying each member got a few million, so I think it would be 5-10 million. He also stated in that interview that you would soon be able to download 'CD' quality audio in a matter of minutes. Which in 1999 was unbelievable due to the internet speeds at the time. So that was probably taken in consideration for the reason to sell the rights.

The reason why they're so consistent, not a bad song on any of their Albums'. Is because they're not just a metal band'. I'm not going to mention the other metal bands. They've got some patchy songs'. People think Maiden is just a metal band because they were underground and never got any airplay. The fact was and still is they're just as big as any big Band on the planet. Blow any band away, too dangerous for other groups business and wealth. Can you imagine if they did get Airplay and media Support?
@renzo4296
@renzo4296 3 жыл бұрын
@@texwhitman you're definitely right, Iron Maiden are the biggest band on the planet and I agree they do have some patchy songs, some songs are better than others, I think alot of it is the fan base, they didn't get tons of Media attention like you said and not to much airplay and especially these days, I think it's the consistent bad ass albums and the extensive touring worldwide and their dedication to all of us fans across the world, I always wanted to see them perform and finally got to in the Tacoma dome on the book of souls world tour, I live probably half hr away from the Tacoma dome and I told myself I'd better go see them before it's to late in life and I have to say that it was an amazing experience, they sounded superb live and I really hope I can see them again someday. I didn't like the albums with Blaze Baley the other singer when Bruce went solo for awhile with Adrian smith the guitarist, those albums were alright but not the maiden I was familiar with. My favorite albums are, number of the beast, piece of mind, somewhere in time, seventh son of a seventh son, powerslave, a matter of life and death, those albums are nastalgic to me and there's several more but I don't need to type them all. Thank you for your reply and information and for your views. Lorenzo gig harbor Washington.

@@renzo4296, I meant other metal bands have patchy songs, not Maiden'. Your interpretation of patchy could mean less. Sorry for the mix confused message, I didn't want to mention other bands to offend fans. Maiden has melodies and harmonies, Priest being the only other metal band like that. Judas Priest is heavier, but Maiden have better songs'.

@Ewolf5150 LOL, they started as like a seventies classic rock type band. They literally changed into leather wearing biker guys overnight just to become cool and relevant in a different side of the music industry. Maiden just is cool and always has been. Priest has some awesome songs but in my mind could never be compared to Maiden because of how they became metal is not as pure. They're not the last to do that though. Pantera was a eighties hair band at first. Very funny then all of a sudden they were hardcore. Whatever some can do it and pull it off but that's not Maiden. Maiden is a lifestyle.

This band has progressed to the goliath band of today because of numbnut rockers like ME. Would not trade it for one second. To create an overall sound while still allowing for great variation and experimentation within that sound, to have a brand that gets fans excited across the decades... Steve Harris is a genius. Maiden is iconic and I've loved them as long as I've been listening to heavy music. Up the Irons! Always!

Yes, Book of Souls is a great album that needs a documentary and some b-sides. What Maiden calls not quite good enough for the album is still better than what most of the bands call the single.

Fan since 9 in 1990. I've tattoos and my house is a maiden shrine. At 41. People ask if I'm twenty five. Obsessed. Met the band and by far to this day the best metal band of all time. Check out Senjutsu. Superb album. Hell on Earth. My favorite on that record. All time favorite song believe it or not after 34 years is The Red and The Black , it's hard to pin point but yeah and No prayer for the Dying and Somewhere in time are my favorite albums. But all albums really. Even Blaze. I liked some of those tunes very much. Lightning Strikes Twice , man on the edge etc , etc. But Steve didn't let him do what he wanted and fur that reason blazes solo stuff is really really heavy and great

These guys were never quite like any other band. I really appreciate that about them, they feel more like old friends now, than this inaccessible, band made of gods. If it weren't such a subjective issue, I'd say they were in fact one of the hardest working bands ever. But they work hard, smart, in a way that helps instead of hurts their careers, which is an incredible achievement by itself, imo. MAIDEN!!MAIDEN!! hehe, takes me back to my teen years ^^

The biggest take-away from this rockumentary is that they're just a great bunch of guys. No airs or graces. Six guys who just get along. 16yrs later and they're still doing it, bigger and better...

Went to see them in 83' at Glasgow Apollo theatre, no longer there but they rocked the place sweat running down the walls and serious power coming from Steves bass and energy from Bruce, always think of Maiden at there best up till Powerslaves ... musically they changed after then but could still bring out tunes of their own original sound.

Generally yes, but when people begin approaching 60 , the years coming rushing up , physically speaking. That said everyone still looks great, Bruce , however, looks considerably older but I would venture to say that has a lot to do with the cancer treatment he went through a few years ago. When meds fuck with your hormonal balances and organs/tissues , it can have very obvious effects on your physical appearance. Regardless, there are very few - VERY FEW! - bands that even come close to the same level of Iron Maiden. UP THE IRONS !!!

Reason they been and still is one of the greatest isn’t just the music. They generally get along and their egos don’t Outdo another person but they gel as individuals and they really are like a big family. Most of the time when watching this you see rock stars taking jabs at one another but they are being serious. With maiden it’s a jab at one another in a friendship tone like real friends in life and that’s refreshing
