Great video to see how to cook shrimp and lay it out. I'm still waiting for the dehydrating part that I was searching for!

What did you need to know that is not in this video, besides the fact that we are them all almost immediately.

His particular dehydrator has only one temperature, so we just plugged it in and let it set for about 24 hours and check to see if the shrimp where ready to be stored in the jars.

Thank you for your detailed video! I have a dehydrator and this is economically feasible over my first thought of needing a freeze dryer.

Yes my wife had a hard life growing up and why she does these videos to tell her story and to encourage everyone possible to do better no matter what your circumstances are.

Great tutorials! Going to add to my food storage too. You are so right about being so over concerned excessively about modern thinking. Growing up a bowl of refried beans and green chile would be left on the table all day and whenever someone wanted a snack homemade tortillas were available to make a quick burrito and NO ONE got sick either!

Exactly right

Nice vid, thank you. You're so right about food security. The best price I can get where I am is about $16 for 2 lbs. That's a sale. But for sure, I would miss some shrimp so guess I'll dehydrate. The only thing I'd like to know is what temperature you are dehydrating them at.

Our dehydrator doesn't have a tempreture gauge. It's a presto dehydrator that you plug in and it starts and you unplug and it stops....lol

Well they are dehydrated, so yes they are very dry. But the taste was very intense and awesome.

Hi I just found your youtube on the dehydrated shrimp in have been thinking about this and was wondering how long it will be shelf stable for long term storage .

Hello Linda and thank you for your question. Since we just started the process we don't know for a fact now long they last. Cool dark place they should last for years is what we are hoping for.

What type of paper is that is it the same as parchment paper or is there a special kind that I need to look for thank you for your video I really enjoyed it. Thanks
What temperature did you set your dehydrator to when you dehydrated your shrimp?
@lazyfarmhomesteading6730 Жыл бұрын
This particular dehydrator does not have a gauge to adjust temperature, only on and off. But we would suggest a temperature of around 110 or higher for about 10 hours while turning as needed.

Thank you for your prompt reply! I will definitely have to try this the next time shrimp is on sale.

@@lazyfarmhomesteading6730 How long did it take you to dehydrate the shrimp? Thanks.
@lazyfarmhomesteading67303 жыл бұрын
@@vtphan2012 we plugged it in around 8pm the night before and let it go until it is where you want it to be, so start with about 12 hours

Could you cook noodles in the broth and dehydrate them?
