Thats very effective! I used to just brush my pad and once i started watching the videos i stepped it up and was doing it way more often. Now my go to is using a spray bottle of ONR and brushing and would step it up to a pad washer like that one in a heart beat if i did lots of polishing or even machine waxing. Having the lightly moistened pad i find not only makes it smoother but also more consistent not to mention easier to clean at the end of the job

That cleaner is so cool 😎😎 I just purchased a Rotary to do my 2017 Fifth wheel camper I purchased few months ago. It's all chalky 😔 I have a big job ahead of me, being it's 12.5 feet tall. I have to find that cleaner somewhere, we are in Quartzite AZ for the winter not many places to buy stuff like this. Walmart is over 30 miles away as with any auto parts stores of any significance. Our little Napa is just a small shack in the desert. I'm watching all your videos so I don't mess this up with the camper if this size will cost a small fortune to repaint. Then if I manage the camper I'll do my RAM truck it just needs a little love not much.

What a cool invention! I'm not a pro detailer, but I've watched quite a few videos where detailers used 8-9 pads per vehicle when polishing, changing pads after every section. That's quite a lot pads/money! Yes, the pad washer might be a bit expensive, but you sure could cut down on the number of pads you had to have on hand. Nice!

Alright, I'll definitely give that pad washer a try! My lime of thinking is to use two pad washers. One with cleaning solution and one with clean water for a rinse. Use the grit gaurd bucket dollies linked together with the stainless steel plate to keep them together in your work area. From what I understand you should clean your pads before your first section pass this way your doing it the same throughout the whole process. On my pad cleaning solution the directions say "rinses freely" so to me this indicates that the solution needs to be rinsed with clean water and it will easily come out of the pad. Your logic makes sense on everything else I can't wait to give it a try!
@Detailers-Business-Academy3 жыл бұрын
No need for 2. By rinses freely, they mean it doesn’t stay in the pad. In testing many compounds and polishes Snappy Clean has no ill effects on them. When you spin the pad out there is so little product left in it that it’s à non issue .

Great video explaining the benefits of the pad washer. I like idea of putting the pad away dirty then clean before using for extra moisture for cooling during cutting. How often or after how many pads cleaning would you change out the waste section and the cleaning section area of the washer Yvan? What have you p[painted the whole new bus with Rhino liner or something similar?
@Detailers-Business-Academy3 жыл бұрын
The solution in the bucket doesn’t get changed. As you clean the pads you move it from the clean section to the used section, when you no longer have clean solution, you empty the used section and fill the fresh section. It takes 2-3 cars to cycle through one fill. The bus is painted with Sem Protex Bedliner.

256/1 is a good , but snappy clean is much better. The UDOS is a great tool, well engineered, and functions as it should. I see it as a perfect tool for mobile detailers, and smaller shops who can’t afford 4 DA’s and a rotary.

Question, Shouldn’t you use a rotary buffer for cutting and Dual Action for lighter finishing work ?
@Detailers-Business-Academy3 жыл бұрын
Either way works. With recent advances in pad technology, a DA cuts faster than a rotary. For finishing a Rotary doesn’t suffer from micro marring. That’s why I do it that way, less time and better results.

Hi Yvan - does a damp pad not equal a softer pad, resulting in reduced cut, diluting of water based abrasives and increased potential for product sling? Additionally does the rinseless wash as a solution not contain other polymers etc. that again interfere, leave a different kind of residue than say a pure soap? Cheers.
@Detailers-Business-Academy3 жыл бұрын
The pad is only damp not wet. There’s not enough there to dilute anything nor sling. A good rinseless leaves no residue, soap does. Yes the pad is slightly softer, which increases cut as more of the pad can make contact with the surface. It’s the pore structure, not the hardness that creates the cut.,

Yvan, one question: When Iam using a damped pad for cutting, I always thought/think the pad has less cutting power? The same like when finishing. A damped finish pad has less agression/cutting power in terms of creating holograms or haze. Also, do you see a difference between using warm or cold water in the system 4000 padwasher?
@Detailers-Business-Academy2 жыл бұрын
Dampening the pad decreases friction, decreases heat, and increases cut. The decreased friction means it’s easier too use the polisher, giving you the impression that you’re cutting less. The temperature of the water is up to you.

Did I understand correctly? Your shop was able to use a single pad on 10+ cars without ever changing pads, only washing them using the bucket? That would be incredible, as opposed to having 4-6 pads used on each car, then washing all of them at the end. Also, how often do you need to change out the water in the bucket? Does the volume last for at least 1 full car?
@Detailers-Business-Academy3 жыл бұрын

Can you recommend something cheaper and that is more accessible to the normie? The LC pad washer is like the Snap Tools of pad washers, what’s the version that a DIY’er can use?
