I have an idea on your next sandy vehicle. Vacuum like normal to get as much as you can. After you've done that take a handheld sander (with no sandpaper on it obviously) and put it on the carpet to vibrate the sand up while vacuuming. I'm curious to know if that works.

If you have access to a large capacity air compressor (25 gallons or larger), a Tornador is AMAZING at blowing out sand and dirt from the carpet. I was shocked the first time I used one on a floor mat, soooo much dust flew out, and the mat changed color from a dirty tan to its original factory grey.

Nice. Use the drill with a brush attachment for the sand in the carpet. I’ve seen other detailers do it and it’s quite effective. Also try rolling the window down after you clean it so you can make a last pass around the glass edges. That helps a lot too. Good luck!

Hi Tom. You did a great job. However, do the windows last so you don't have to worry about overspray from your silk and shine. Also, use your carpet brush while you are vacuuming to save time and effort.

After you clean the carpets, interiors (chairs), I would either use Tuff-Stuff, or Scotchgard cleaner to clean any stains, then put Scotchgard protector to create a barrier so if something spills, or there is dirt you just vaccum, and there it is new again, of course if you buy a new car, it*s always good to scotchgard it to protect the carpet, mats, chairs, door panels,, as to the glass I use Rain X, to prevent fog build up inside which will happen or if you are cleaning the glass inside, this will add like aprotection against fingerprints, as to the outside of the glass I use Rain -X for outside, cause if it rains the water would bead up, annother good idea, which I practice, is with the wiper blades, the black part ,after certain uses cleaning the windshield, the blades tend to get hard thus scraching the glass due to the black part cracking up with sunrays, or cleaning the windshield, the rubber part gets so dirty, it doesn*t clean right leaving streaks, what I do, is get a piece of cloth or paper towel, put some vinnegar or alcohol on the paper towel or cloth, pass it along the black rubber, that cleans the windshield, you would be surprised at the amount of dirt coming of the black rubber that cleans the winshield, plus it serves as a lubricant to help maintsin the cleaming part from drying up, I myself do it to a 2014 car, and here it is 2019, and I have not changed the wipers, when you think how much each blade cost vs. the money you save cleaning the blades, you can save a lot of money, now if the blades are worn out then you replace,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
