I love Ariana, a TON of people forget how young she was when the shooting occurred at her concert in London. She has always been connected to her fans and that night, that changed her. Then Mac Miller passed away, talk about ANOTHER BLOW to her heart, she still loves him. A lot of people forget that he was on her first track. Now she has dated a bunch of different guys, and has a divorce (which is the last thing she ever wanted to happen). I just hope that she has a REAL friend that doesn’t take stuff and can sit her down and tell her that she is enough, just how she is.

I actually agree with you, @enriquev1271. Sure, the song a little catchy, the beat and rap and everything. But I personally don't like songs that are just bragging about how rich and sexy you are as an artist. It's just not real music to me. To be fair, I haven't even listened to Ariana's full discography, but this is definitely my least favorite of what I've heard of her. I like songs like "breathin'" or "no tears left to cry" or from her new album, "true story." Songs that have depth and meaning and tell a story, that aren't just cocky, which is very much what this song is to me. Anyways rant over

Even though this was her peak of her career she was going through a lot at the time. All of her "cocky songs" have real deep meanings. Like break up with your girlfriend, im bored. @@prepangles It's funny you say that bc just last night I was listening to some more Ariana Grande music after saying what I said here, and read more KZfaq comments and realized how much she has been through, especially around the time of this song. I'd known about her concert bombing and that's why I liked her album Sweetener so much, but I just learned about her ex dying before this album was made, plus I just learned about the divorce that Eternal Sunshine is about. I thought to myself, "dang, I could understand if through all the shit that was happening and all the sad songs like Imagine she might want just a lighthearted song about being rich, and I mean fair enough." Still doesn't make 7 Rings my kinda song really, but still, maybe I can sort of understand where it was coming from.

You do realize Ariana is not only heavily involved with the lyrics of her songs but also the production aspect of it as well? She’s very involved in the creation of her music. Just because she chooses to write a lot of songs with her friends doesn’t mean she’s not talented or that she doesn’t write her own music.
