Also, because diesel is a hydrocarbon, the unit has to be higher than the exhaust system entirely or water gets trapped and it will exhaust moisture or create a code. That's why the exhaust is at the bottom to get rid of internal condensation, but the exhaust pipe needs to be sloped down enough to drain as well.

So many misconceptions in this video and replies. Running on Kerosene will NOT damage the fuel pump. Domestic UK central heating uses kerosene(28sec) and geared central heating pumps run for 10's of years without failure. The heaters draw approximately 10A when the plug energises. The pump is a solenoid or piston pump. The geater is NOT 8kw and only approximately 4 and a bit kw as it Is impossible to push in enough fuel to achieve 8KW INPUT.

You have to creat negative air pressure inside the shed before it starts pulling air from doors and cracks and the only way to do that is by sucking air from the inside to outside. I run 2 diesel-heaters in my garage and never had a efficient running problem.
@Scottiegillespie
@Scottiegillespie 7 ай бұрын
Yes Exactly. That's why by code any Furnace we install you have to have the fresh air intake outside. It's the law in most states if not all. Also heat exchangers run most efficient with cold air intake. Also your exhaust must be 18 inches higher than your air intake. Hope this helps . I'm a licensed HVACR tech with 25 years experience. By pulling from inside not only is it not efficient you absolutely will be creating a negative draft inside your dwelling

@@Scottiegillespie Others say that the heater will use more fuel if the air feed pipe is outside sucking in cold air but the burn will be cleaner. Why don't they supply a longer hose if it's 100% true that it needs to be outside? I've just got one of these heaters for my garage, trying to decide how/where to install it, didn't plan on putting the intake outside to be honest. I'll only be using this heater for short periods, when I need to work on something, I'm certainly not going to run it for 8 hours a day for example. Does that make any difference?

@steveclark.. 4 ай бұрын
@@Reed-bj2dt Again, if that's truly the case, why don't they supply a longer piece of hose? The length that I got hardly sticks out past the rear of the unit, certainly not long enough to go through the brick wall of my garage. I've had to run it like it's been supplied, thankfully no problems so far, it certainly takes the chill out of the air and makes working in the garage bearable.

I suggest not running the exhaust uphill. You could collect condensation and block the exhaust over time. Some say it will burn up all the condensation but I would check and watch it for a while. Another thing you forgot to mention (and to change) is that cheap green fuel line that should be replaced because it has known to swell and leak over time, which could start a fire in some cases.

First of all exhaust has to drain, point it down, second of all if you live where winter is cold then the diesel does not gel it has the proper additives in it already, I use mine in -30c, third forget the amps my Ecoflow Delta2 runs my Vevor 8k full time even when I start it in extreme temps it never shuts off. Just buy a 12v to 110 20 amp converter is much cleaner and save you some work. I run 12' of 3" air duct into my tent and the unit does not overheat at all. Make sure you tighten everything on this heater out of the box most thing are loose but so far I have used it a lot outside and it is going great except it is hard on diesel.

Your battery dc power must be on low side of a normal 12 volt battery. A fully charged 12 volt battery would see 13.2 to 13.5 volts. Just taking guess on voltage and amp. I have seen many tests which show these heaters hitting 10.5 amps on startup. They call them 8kw they truly are 5kw heater units. Take a look at the Maxpeedingrods brand, they come with heavy duty components which can be bought for any heaters, better quieter pumps, hose, etc.

I intend to run this exclusively in my garage when I’m working in there. I’m going to mount this on a shelf and use my former pellet stove intake and exhaust piping to do those jobs. But I did want a straight into the wall outlet power supply instead of a battery or power station. This inverter should do that for me? Correct? Outstanding review. The VEVOR manual online never states its amperage draw (only that it is a 12v system) but the wiring diagram DOES show an inline 20A fuse being used between the battery source for this model. The newer models specifically show a battery source needing an amperage load higher than 15A to work. These are meant to be used in vehicle/car battery situations, which can handle those loads so it makes sense. Bluetti boasts 15A AC outlets if you want to try one of those.

I have watched several of these Chinese built air heater reviews and I see that all the units are almost exactly the same unit, they are being bought from the very same factory, and different Chinese companies are then selling them, under their own brand name, be it Vevor, Sivel or Ncalory, etc. So I guess buy the one that has the best value/price. But repair any mistakes in manufacturing, especially the cheap fuel line. Use your best judgement on what is a good repair/modification. Be careful as some over heat, since there is no over-heat control circuit of sensing circuit. The only fuel control is the fuel pump pressure setting. The units do best at 4.4 psi and the unit is not as efficient at highest setting 5.4 psi. Allow 3 to 4 hrs after initial start up to burn off the stinky odor from the heat exchanger plastic cover and manufacturing oils. The units are best started up initially outside for this and fire safety reasons. QED E. Engr. 50 yrs

Running on kerosene will ruin your pump. Kerosene does not have lubricant properties like diesel does. Also if you use one of those solar generator power packs and you plug your heater into the cigarette lighter adapter it has to run at 15 amps or higher otherwise when the glow plug kicks on you will get an error code on the power supply and your diesel heater will shut off immediately. If you are going to use DC current you're better off connecting it to either a car battery or buy yourself a cheap 100 amp hour lithium battery and your heater will run for 2 days on the lithium battery. Unfortunately for the lithium battery you will have to buy a Lipe04 specific battery charger. A 30 amp charger will charge your battery quicker.

I know fuel-induced lubrication is important in diesel engines, but If it's a diaphram pump (which I believe is what the heater has) is lubrication an issue? Just asking. If it is an issue, would adding 1:50 old engine oil to kerosine be a solution?

This video fix did not work for me ,, try a battery to test for function , 15A12V was not enough, I will try 20A or bigger power supply,, I think the switching power supply's dont all work the same or glow plugs draw different ,, even if they look the same..

Hard video to watch. Too much repetition (audio vomit) and the bouncing "gopro" - is a "nogo". That said, thanks for the tip and info on duct sizing. Good to know.

The first 10 minutes of your video is just purely unboxing and when you said you were going to angle your exhaust up well that’s a No,no as it creates a place for water to sit so the exhaust won’t go out and when you said that you’re putting your intake beside your exhaust because if it’s inside it’s going to suck air from inside through the doors and cracks I just had to shut your video off because you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Lol. Thanks for watching. Actually, I have been a licensed havcr technician for 30 years and have worked on boilers bigger than your house. Obviously, you misunderstood everything I said. You're not a good listener, obviously. Exhaust is never pitched up. I SAID ABOVE the fresh air, which Is code just like a manufacturer for venting outside. Try reading an installation Manuel with pictures. Might make more sense to you. anyone who knows a thing about combustion knows that exhaust cools and needs to be pitched down. And ALSO !! YOU PUT YOU'RE AIR INTAKE BELOW , BELOW YOU'RE EXHAUST. WOW.Anyways, thanks for the view. This is more for people to read that maybe be obviously as confused as you. Cheers

@@Scottiegillespie @ 11:24 you actually say you’re going to angle the exhaust up. I don’t care if you suck air from the outside with your air intake but if it’s on the inside what is being sucked in and what is being blown out creates a neutral atmosphere there is no sucking in of any cold air through the cracks that’s just ridiculous. I know I know even though they are your own words you won’t believe it. Can’t fix stupid
