Difference between Short Column & Long Column

This video shows the difference between short column and long column. The main difference between short and long column is that when the ratio of length to least dimension is greater than 12, its known as Long column, while when the ratio of length to least dimension is less than 12, known as short column. Effective length or length Because effective means .5L So it's full length divided by least Or .5 L divided by least. Reply must

Effective length means that it has been multiplied with some factor.
