@@Blackadder75 I’m sorry but I really don’t like any other music. My children and grandchildren get a kick out of it. I told them rock and roll died with the British invasion. 50s and early 60s music was all about teenagers falling in and out of love. AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ALL THE WORDS!

@jimm6386
@jimm6386 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was a common problem - not because of mis-synching but because Dion and the Belmonts were not actually singing - they were lip singing, trying to match what they did in the recording studio to a live performance - and that, if you've ever tried to do it, is not easy. At Dick Clark's Saturday Night show, there were no back up bands so a true live performance was just not in the cards. And yea, love those audience shots here. Note the girls had on the high school uniforms. All chewing gum. The sponsor you know.

My dad's music! I grew up listening to all this great music. I'm 52, and I still listen to it sometimes. I love my 80's and 90's rock, but this brings back so many memories of getting into my dad's record collection.

Until watching this video at least 50 times in the past month.. my favorite Doo Wop songs WERE.. Blue Moon by the Marcels and Little Darling by The Diamonds.. Not anymore.. this song is just perfection.. the harmony along with the Bass vocals plus Dion's charisma are just incredible.. I would have loved to have been 17 through about 30 years old back in the late 50's early 60's.. the Music/Clothes/Hairstyles and Cars make this the best time to be young and alive!!

Can you imagine growing up in the mid to late Fifties!!! Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, JP “the Big Bopper” Richardson, Dion & the Belmonts, amongst many others! So incredibly sad what happened early Monday morning, 3rd February 1959 😢💔.

I make it a point to watch this video every six months. It makes me feel good and reminds me that there was a time when people were fun loving and innocent. Too bad we can't re- capture those memories/feelings. Our children will never know what they missed.

Grant Freeman: Don't despair. If you read the comments you'll find that _many_ millennials appreciate this music and speak with regret about not having been part of Dion's era. Young music lovers get a bum rap. They are as capable of enjoying old-time rock 'n roll as anyone. Great tunes aren't limited to the era of their origin.

I lived it. We had the music, cars, and the girls were girls...Not trying to recapture my youth but just enjoy a 50' or 60's CD and cruising in my Vette...During the late 50's and 60's I drove Chevy convertibles and hardtops, most 3 or 4 peed V8's...I even gave my girlfriend (wife) a '57 Ford with a police interceptor engine, that Fairlane 500 would honk....Reading the comments here brought back a lot of memories, thanks.
