Dad, you made me proud. Our kids NEVER get enough of implied praise and acceptance from their dads like the kind you showered on G. and M. out in the shop. You demonstrated that you trusted them and needed their assistance in a relatively dangerous area and I can guarantee you those minutes you worked with them are more precious and memorable than a thousand throw away "Good job" comments. Tragically losing your dad early in your life must make the times he made you a true partner and valued helper so memorable now. It is funny how we as dads allow our jobs and duties to block out how important including our "littles" until they are old enough (in our eyes) to be included when by that time, they have developed their own interests.

I know in the US Military when a tank sprocket is replaced. They always use new bolts. Only when they change it in the field do they use the old bolts. Then when it gets to a service center. They replace the bolts. God bless

When removing an oil filter that will overflow, pull a single use plastic shopping bag up over the filter. Break the filter loose just a tad. Pull the bag up to the top and finish removing the filter. The bag will usually catch the mess. Plus, you already have the filter contained so it does not spill elsewhere as you set it aside. Good job teaching Gunner to recognize when things are in alignment. A first step for developing that eye for getting on grade.

@jcgoogle1808 3 жыл бұрын
@@aldimore If you wear ear protection and can hear over the sound of a running engine, they're not providing protection, unless they're the sound canceling headphones used at gun ranges. But there was no reason to wear ear protection in his garage. There were plenty of reasons not to.

I love how you are raising your children. I really wish I was closer to you to help you. Take your mig welder and weld a nub on those bolts, if you have to shove a piece of copper tubing down the hole to protect the threads. The bolt heats up and shrinks when it cools, they come rite out with pliers or you can weld a nut on them once you build them up. Good on ya for the candle trick, it also works.
