Dirt (not so) perfect. Nice of you to show when things don’t exactly go as planned. And that you back up your work and take care of it. I’m guessing that wasn’t exactly virgin ground that it got set on. Keep it up👍

When I sat my first wall I didn't use anything to stabilize it and of course the ground settled. The old man went with me and ordered stabilizing material and metal straps. It is still there 30 years later. Old Schools are No fools.

I live in Western North Carolina and retaining walls have always presented problems. The terrain everywhere is such that retaining walls are very common, certainly around residences.

Been there done that once. My motto is I only get paid to do it once. Good job. Glad to see I'm not the only one who stands behind their work.

Great respect for you showing a mistake! We always fill the hillside with clear stone, or (rock) as you all say it with a weeping tile at the bottom of the wall. Never have an issue like that. Clear stone doesn’t have the pressure, and it lets water pass. As long as the dead men are far enough back. Great vid, and I bet the next one ya do different 😋

I use these blocks all the time to build retaining wall bins and they always shift and settled after a year or so.... unfortunately they are a little bit of an issue to remove in the tight rows, especially on the 90° corners near the pole barn..... I also like the idea of being able to remove the bucket to lift these... I'm sure it adds lifting capacity too....my old 490 E still has plenty of power even with the 30" bucket. Lol.... great narrating... always great to see you doing good even when things didn't go as planned.... Take care of yourself and be safe ! Tom

Great video Mike. Very glad to see u showed a mess up and admitted that u messed up and came back to make it right. That's makes a happy customer and I'm sure he will call u back again. Why didnt u put a French drain in there to help keep the water away and not let it wash the rock or dirt away?
