Gonna be honest, checking out that Steam page and seeing Recent Reviews at Very Positive was a little surprising. What was less surprising, was seeing that most of these accounts appeared to have one game, and the reviews felt oddly... Formulaic. Something smells, and it's not that stagnant oasis.

I learned my lesson with The Isle: not to ever support megalomaniacs with more ego than experience that have learned to cash out on naive fan bases. So glad i dodged a bullet by not putting any money on this thing.

Also Did you know that four-winged dragon was actually STOLEN ART? Traced basically from fan art of Cloud Jumper; the How to train your dragons character. The pose and everything was blatantly copied and traced. In the comments of that video many showed the link to the ORIGINAL artist and it's so crystal clear how little they tried to change anything if at all. It's sad. So yeah, I remember being really upset over that. I'll update this comment if I find the link.

I am a backer but honestly I gave up on the game. Sometimes you take wrong decisions that cost you. I've moved on after the first 3 days of playing the game and glitching through the map. If this game can pull a No Man's Sky and come back with amazing updates, I'm willing to come back.

See, I was one of the Kickstarters. It was such a boom at the start, everyone wanted s dragon game similar to the Isle. But man, it's been a bit more than a year and the game still looks so unfinished with the amount of money they have on their pockets. I'm mad, because I was one of the guys that told everyone who was accusing Jao (the dev) about scam to wait, and lots of people demanding to have their money back when all of this started. It's a shame since I made friends with people in the discord (some of those ended up leaving meanwhile I stayed) and I even talked to some Devs in DMS or mods... And well after a couple months from those accusations and Anthomia's videos I just forgot about the 18$ I wasted. But today I wanted to check how it was going and hoping it would look somewhat better... Jokes on me. Now I'm one of those that works of like to have those 18$ back Honestly, now I'm even more mad since there's a game called "Draconia" that looks much more promising

This game was created to take advantage of all the little kiddies who play The Isle and got sick of waiting for Evrima.

I find it funny that they want to sell dragons and skins in an empty game where there's nothing to do. "Here's this empty wasteland to run around bored in... but you get to be blue. That makes it fun, right?"

As someone who was once a game dev (sadly real life got in the way), it really irks me that people like jao can raise half a million dollars and then screw around with their customers.

For those that are hella disappointed bout this, there are two dragon games coming up, (tho it’ll be out after a year or so).... draconia (looks like it’ll mostly just be a role playing game) and Emberfall (pvp/pve, play as a dragon or a human and survive)

This game has made me so exhausted. I backed it on kickstarter when I still had a lot of hope for the game, and Jao did seem genuine in the videos he was in. Now I see nothing. I haven't seen ANY major or minor updates because they're all kept on Patreon instead of being shown to everyone who bought the game. The creativity has gone down the drain because a large chunk of the dragons look very similar to existing dragons from other titles. The plasma looks like Night Furies from How To Train Your Dragon (HTTYD), the Hybrids look like Stormcutters from HTTYD, the Healers look like Banshees from the Avatar movie (the blue one), and the lighting amphithere looks like a Skrill from HTTYD, just to name a few. I'm positive other people have more. The skin concepts are boring, with only 2-4 major color zones that get filled with blocks of solid color. I would like to see PATTERNS. Stripes, spots, gradients, contrast, anything to make these things look interesting!! Something that makes me want to find someone with certain colors so the people we nest have nice skins!! I'm just so tired. The discord is full of unpleasant people, the Q-n-A channel there never gets any responses and is currently closed with the last question being from March 7th. Hundreds of people react to the questions wanting them answered, but we never get told WHEN the devs might answer anything. They used to do streams just for answering questions and playing the game, but none of the streams were ever saved by them (to my knowledge), so its hard to see what questions might've been answered in the past. I don't even have the kickstarter role in the discord anymore because I see no value to it. There was no channel specifically for the kickstarters that was more than just an echo chamber of praise that I don't relate to. I want to believe that Jao and the others had good intentions when they started development after the kickstarter. But seeing all the current updates that only feature the Acid Spitter, a DLC dragon that I'll never play because I'm not giving this game more money, leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I understand they might be using that model because it only has 4 limbs and is relatively simpler than the main 3 dragons, but by doing this they're placing a spotlight on a dragon that isn't even one of the originally promised dragons, ie. the fire dragon, the fire wyvern, and the plasma dragon. The acid spitter isn't even one of the "kickstarter exclusive" dragons. It's something completely extra, and outside of what the devs should be focusing on in the first place, the main 3. By using a drake they cant show anything that has to do with flying, one of the major draws to even playing as a dragon in the first place! This is to say little of the current gameplay, not that theres much to begin with. You sit for 4 hours waiting until you're grown enough not to be instantly killed, you fly around a little, then you either log off or fight people and die. There is NOTHING to the game right now, its just AFKing until you get big. Theres no real point in interacting with anyone, and if you do you could just get killed and have to start over. It's boring, and even The Isle has more substance because theres things to explore, people and AI to hunt, mountains to climb, and atmosphere to just sit and listen to if you want to take a break. This comment is way too long already, but I could go on all day about what a disappointment this has turned out to be. I'll always have the small sliver of hope that Jao could turn it around and make this game at LEAST decent, but I'm not going to hold my breath anymore. TL;DR: I had hope when I backed the game, but all the creativity and promise the game once held has vanished due to poor prioritization, bad community management, and a complete lack of clarity on what is happening to the game if you're not giving them MORE money through Patreon. I feel disrespected and ignored. I hope Jao can turn it around for his sake, but I don't see myself playing the game in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jao decided to call his "game's" most recent update Genesis so it would be confused with ARK: Survival Evolved's kind of recent Genesis update, as he has done it once before, using something similarly or identically named and totally unrelated to his over-glorified tech demo to drum up interest.

If a game or software, shows no progress within 6 months, then it should be removed from the storefront. Re-submissions are allowed after 6 months and can show the game has progressed. Something along those lines.

When I heard of this game I was super excited. I always wanted a dragon game where you can just be a dragon and not have them just be the villain. Im so saddened with how this game is going and that it looks like it will never be finished. Such a shame. It was such a good idea with so much potential.

I just want a decent dragon game but for some reason they turn out poorly. I cleaned up my Steam wishlist yesterday and removed the two dragon games that had been there for a while. One was released into early access 2014 with practically no updates since and another was early access starting soon, 2017. The best one I've found is still The I of the dragon from 2002 or thereabouts.

I was so excited to play this game. I had so many hopes that it'd be as good as it possibly could be, that it would exceed expectations. And I dismissed one of my most important rules, "be as critical and smart as possible", because it played to all my fantasies and things i love in fantasy based games. Lesson learned I guess, be more sceptical next time when word of an amazing game gets passed around.

These days, I'm trying to look on the bright side of things, because it's all I can do. I invested $40 into Day of Dragons. I got nothing that was promised out of it. I DID, however, gain a wealth of entertainment from SidAlpha destroying it over and over and over and over again, because it rightfully should be nuked off the face of Steam for Jao and his team's utter lack of ingenuity, intelligent design, or even foresight.

As a Kickstarter where do you even go to voice concerns about the exclusivity of their backer rewards? In discord you will just be silenced, deleted, then banned (possibly stalked / harassed by aggressive die hards) . On the Steam discussion page, to be silenced, and then permanently banned from the "game" you paid for? :(

To me and a few others, Nurse Dragon is technically a Rumblehorn and the Hybrid Dragon is basically a Stormcutter. If there was a survival game with the actual httyd dragons, I'd play it. But not this-

Take out the dragons and just use sandworms, retitle game to desert planet. Make loads of money off gullible people who love the Dune franchise. The sleeper has awakened.

One of my biggest gripes with the game was that fact that they had so much bloody content planned to be locked behind the kickstarter or nesting wall. Hearing them go back on that is bitter sweet six fucking months later and with nothing to show for the game even being playable this century.

I think going back on their word for the kickstarter rewards like that is pretty scummy, but I think having that many dragons locked away behind an impenetrable wall like that was a bad idea anyway, so I'm not all that upset. I'm more upset that they have DLC dragons planned already when they don't even have a working game.

I am not surprised there is no progress here. All the signs were there that this game was dead before arrival and only the fanatical supporters of the game believed otherwise. This is a good video that I am sure will get the DoD fanatics loosing their minds.

What bugs me about situations like these is an inherent problem with the games industry and lack of transparency; maybe they’re developing the game, or maybe they’re just using it as a front to collect money and not even attempt to be making a game. It really shakes your confidence in trusting other people to do the right thing. You shouldn’t have to trust, stuff like early access needs laws that require you to show your work. The incentives for starting an “early access” game and maintaining your cover for potentially years while stringing the public along with a little PR. Is there any other way to demonstrate progress without delivering any results? Or is “trying really hard we promise” a substitute for work now? If so where do I get my Try Hard money?
