This video shows the creation of a acrylic pour painting that had four dirty flip cups with metallic colors, and used two simple techniques (flip cup and dirty pour). I LOVE how these metallic colors turned out in this acrylic pour painting!!! Paint pouring is so much fun! The flip cup and dirty pour are simple techniques that can create beautiful cells and separated colors. It is called a dirty flip cup because the colors have silicone and mix together to create new colors. Same with a dirty pour, but instead of flipping the cup, you pour paint.

Acrylic Paint Pouring Recipe:
3 parts paint
1 part pouring medium (1/2 Liquitex pouring medium, 1/2 GAC 800)
About 1.5 parts thinning solution (1/4 pouring medium, 3/4 water) - this varied, I thin to the correct consistency.
Colors Used in the Acrylic Pour Flip Cups: Iridescent Green Blue (pebeo), 24K Gold (Decoart), quinacridone magenta (liquitex basics), dioxazine purple (liquitex basics), metallic purple (blick), burnt orange (Modern Masters)

Gorgeous. I think the warnings with metallics is most important because the powder from the dust before it is mixed can become aerosolized. Other videos I've seen with metallics they use masks until they are done mixing it into a liquid.

Wow Jenny that painting blows my mind! I haven't poured anything but blue for a while, I was looking at a bottle of Pebeo blue green. I thought, I should take a look at Jenny's videos. She always makes nice colorful pours, maybe I'll get some inspiration to try something different. And boom! This is right up my alley, metallics and rainbows! Ive never seen a metallic orange like that before, just the Pebeo and folk art orange. I might mess with some copper/ orange and see what I get. Thanks for sharing and continuing to inspire people like me to try new things!

I had a scare last winter (that involved coughing up blood) and I will now, and always, baby them and appreciate them (and pray I never cough up blood again! LOL It was terrifying!) I have some of this paint and hadn't gotten around to mixing it yet . Pretty happy I will be using it outdoors! And soon too.Thanks for doing the test! I Can't wait to get busy and try it out! Hey CC - thank you so much!! Yes, I know through etsy how expensive shipping to Aus and NZ can be!! I can never get it figured out right, either. Another question...Do you put an undercoat of white on your canvas before you do the dirty pours? In the workshop that I attended over the summer, we were told to put an undercoat of white with floetrol and distilled water before pouring. My paint tends to slide around too much.
