#acrylicpouring #fluidart #paintpouring In this video, I do two acrylic pour flip cups using Julie Cutt's pouring medium recipe. (I also promised a shark awareness day video, so look for shark facts in the subtitles!!) Daily fluid art can be very expensive, so I am looking for a more economical way to pour paint. I need to tweek this recipe and get used to it, but I think this is a great way to save money so that I can make several acrylic pouring videos each week! What do you think?
Recipe:
70% Elmer's Glue All
30% water
I mixed paint and pouring medium in different ratios, depending on the consistency of the paint. For thinner paint, such as Master's Touch, I used a 1 to 1 ratio of paint to PM. For the Pebeo Studio Acrylics paints, it was more of a 1 to 2 ratio of paint to PM.
Colors Used in the Acrylic Pour Flip Cups: Fluorescent Pink, Ocean Green, Iridescent Green Blue, Iridescent Blue Black, Iridescent Gold, phthalocyanine blue, Prussian Blue

Hi Jenny, thanks for the shout out. If I may offer a little more info...layer your paints carefully 2 or 3 times for a few small cups or if you are using just one big cup, layer 4 or 5 times. Thin with water, torch very lightly so you dont get too many cells and only tilt once to each corner or you will lose you round cell shape. Love your work. Julie

@@JennyPost just go slowly and from up high. Try not to get too many cells as they spread out and grow and bump into each other if there are too many. You can also cover most of the canvas before torching so the cells dont overstretch :)

I have been using glue and water but lately I noticed after pouring and tilting that it looks grainy a bit in the paint kinda like fuzzy hard to explain but I am really dense when it comes to the ratio !!! How can I figure out how much is 70 percent to 30 ? I know I sound dumb but on my measuring cup it's either ounces or cups or millimeters !!! I am terrible in math so I need a visual lol like on a cup or something lol !! Great video too !!! Love it
@JennyPost
@JennyPost 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Marlene! I am so sorry for my long delay! The ratios baffle many if not most people, so you are totally not alone! To figure out percentages, an easy way to do it is mix ten ounces at a time, which you can weigh on a scale. First pour in 7 ounces (70 percent) then pour in 3 ounces (30 percent). You can check your math because 7 plus 3 equals 10. If you wanted to mix twice that (20 ounces), then just double those amounts: 14 ounces (70 percent) and 6 ounces (30 percent)... checking the math, 14 plus 6 equals 20. Another way to do it is through multiplication. You can figure 70 percent of 10 ounces by multiplying 10 times .70 (just put a decimal before the percent). I like to weigh things on a scale, but measuring cups also have ounces so that is another way to do it. I am so sorry for my delay getting back to you. I have been sick for a few months and I am just now getting back on youtube.

Me again lol should the glue be runny where it doesn't have a mound at all ? I never had a problem mixing but since my car accident I just can't formulate well !!!
@JennyPost
@JennyPost 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Marlene - It has been a while since I worked with the glue. What I would suggest is for you to study Julie Cutts videos. She is amazing and explains things in a very good way. I know that you will have a mound when you mix the glue with the paint, but if I recall, the paint/water mixture stays somewhat runny. Good luck!

ce n'est plus de la peinture mais de la colle teintée pas agréable du tout en texture à travailler sur la toile
@JennyPost
@JennyPost 5 жыл бұрын
" "it's no longer paint but tinted glue not pleasant at all in texture to work on the canvas" - I really liked the texture. It was very smooth and it appears to by drying well! I cut up most of my paintings to make jewelry, so I am not necessarily looking for archival perfection... I want beautiful iridescence and cells. I think this mixture will work perfect! Plus, the cost is WAY less. I will have a full opinion once I see the dried results, but very hopeful about it so far.
