Looking back on this, I'm surprised that as smart as Jeanine is, she didn't premake a cure with only enough for herself so that if her hypnosis serum were to be used against her, she could inject herself with the cure in advance so it would fight off the serum. Oh well every villain has to have a fault I guess

the hypnosis serum doesn’t even exist in the books and I assume the creators of the movie wanted to make Tris more likable and Jeanine less so. pretty disappointed with the way they changed the entire book because I agree that especially Book Jeanine would have made a cure.

@@deputy2421 I don't really think there was any name to this serum in the books, but if there was I would say it would be hypnosis only. In the books, the dauntless, post their initiation, were injectd with a tracking serum, however, the leader had kind of a pact with the leader of Erudite (Jeanine) that they will help them bring down abnegation, so, instead of tracking serum, all the members of dauntless were injected with this new serum that hypnotized them. The only people who were resistant to serums were the divergents, which is why Jeanine was always making sure that all the divergent were dead. However, they changed the ending here. Tris and Tobias never injected Jeanine with the serum. Prior to this, when they were captured, Jeanine injected Tobias with an experimental serum that effected him even though he was a divergent. Then he was the one that oversaw the attack, making things easier for Jeanine (he was earlier shown to be very good with computers). Jeanine then tried to get Tris killed but she escaped with her mother's help (who was also a divergent). In the end, Tris and Tobias fight, but Tris was unable to kill him and she surrenders, which made Tobias break out of the serum effect and then they both shut down the simulation.

@@JabamiLain Except in this case. I laughed my way through the first book at some of the artists decisions in terms of writing and contexts. The movie tells the story much more clear and entertaining. The books are the juice, but this movie brought it to life and got everyone to care.

Honestly tell me, do you really think that it is possible to provide each and every scene in a 3 hour film for each and every situation in a 600 pages book? But i like the fact that you appreciate the movie. Most of the fanatics keep on criticising about how poor the film is and how it is different from the book instead of recognizing the efforts of the filmmakers.

The differneces for the first movie are not that bad but the third movie was a disaster :-( I don´t see any reason for the book being "split" into 2 movies. They destroyed the entire story of the book so I can´t even see where the would have gone with a 4th movie.

Rose didn't have to be in this movie. She already got the Diamond from versailles. What more could she ask? This is ridiculous.

In the book. Jeanine already found out that they were Divergent when they she saw them in the Abnegation attacks not being controlled. I think this scene is way better written in this movie than the book. I'm glad that they change it a bit.
