i've read the books hundred times and i don't think they showed in the movie how serious it was, Tris almost died in the books. In the movie she's like: oh well Four gets it lets go stand behind this wall.

Uhh the book was so much more dramatic. Tris was beaten up, groped, and dangled over the chasm. The movie scene was so underwhelming. They just kinda grab her and hold her next to the edge

Michael Rosen the only reason why they’re calling her a coward is because that’s what the movie made her in this scene. In the book she’s unconscious and is unable to fight back. In the movie, she’s awake but runs behind the wall and let’s Four fight.

I'm cringing at how inaccurate this was. Tris was hung over the chasm, not pushed by it. Then she was unconcious and four carried her to his room. Book was soooooo much better

I had to constantly refer to the books with the events because I can’t see and there was no audio description I kind of had to think of all the descriptions that were given in the book and then seen them in comparison with the film I was like they missed out this detail or they missed out this character so I get where you’re coming from

In the novel the attackers did more If you’ve read it you’ll understand They pretty much did something like the movie but holding but the also beat her and she blacked out so Four had to carry her while in the movie none of this is present.

I didn’t see it when I was consumed in fan forking excitement that the world had come to life, but all of those scenes were SO MUCH MORE in the book. Al smelling of soap and lavender - they could have at least made it mysterious. They CARRYING HER in her sleep, her being blindfolded, the PTSD from that happening to her, the slight assault. The way that Four reacted to that. The fact that Four is usually loud and when he’s quiet when he’s angry, that’s big. But he was so loud and so enraged in that moment - all of the times that Tris had her thoughts at the cafeteria table and the REALLY REALLY torn relationship between her what her parents want for her and what she wants and she can’t seem to stray away from that. Dauntless cake! Awesome characters that didn’t get much input! The movie did convey some of these things with emotion especially the knife seem and the fear simulations -REALLY could have done better with Four’s. So I loved it, loved the tattoos and everything. But now I realise that they didn’t really highlight her insecurities and that she thought she was now striking and not beautiful. So much that they missed... except for my favourite quote “what doesn’t shut you down wakes you up [I’ve seen it]”

Al and Peter Petigrew are similar when I see this scene. They attach themselves to much to other people and have these role models that they don’t try to be like but rather... watch. Even more so since they are both incredibly insecure and feel good about themselves when they feel the need to help someone who seems weaker than them. That is just my opinion tho

Why do they order and want to control them, and want to be the leader? Afraid to lose control? Out of fear? How many times do people need to hear that they can't copy the whole thing in the book. It's prohibited or something. So some scenes aren't going to be just like in the book. The idea is there but not the scenes that was in the book. So what's in the book will really be different from the movie.

And not everything that's in book suits the movie...movie point of view is different from book point of view
