The best thing about this tutorial is your explanation as to “why” each part was used.

You could sub that cap for an adapter for the threads on the pressure valve which would eliminate the need for replacing the 3-Way with a 4-Way. Would make the build a lot more simple for those looking to do the same. Great DIY.

1 tip I would recommend that worked really well for me. Take a sharpie and mark a line on your top and bottom when you find a good seal. Some times the lid doesnt seal if it's not in the right position.

This video saved my life, I have the same pressure chamber for 10 years now, but the gauge connector is escaping air for a while, I live in Brazil and I didnt want to order a new one, so thanks to your vídeo I'm gonna be able to hunt down the new connectors and customize the gauge and air valve just like you did. A million times THANK YOU! Keep Rockin'!

as a slight tip. when you release the pressure. you're venting the air/gas that was in the pot. So if that resin gave off gases... could be toxic. good idea to do that in a well vented area.

Built one of these for my daughter to make gaming dice. Took a slightly different approach. Since it is an inlet pressure regulator and I had read several tutorials that noted the tendency to bleed down with these pots, I left the regulator on. That way she is able to set the pressure she wants and leave her compressor hooked up so that the pressure remains consistent within a few pounds; the compressor tank brings it back up when it bleeds (which it does not do any longer). The welding around the fittings is notoriously bad and at higher pressures frequently the location of leaks. I filled in around any thru holes with thickened epoxy and then pressurize the pot to about 15 lbs for 10 minutes to force the epoxy into any small leaks. I did not trust the over-pressure relief valve that was on the pot so I replaced it for another $15. I also discovered that the inlet regulator does not like to allow air to bleed back until it is below 20 lbs. So if you keep that regulator you should mount an exhaust valve as well. I actually used a T fitting in the "paint outlet" fitting and mounted both the exhaust valve and over-pressure valve on that fitting. Last is thoroughly clean that seal and in some cases wipe it down with a little vaseline to get a 100% seal. Another commenter mentioned to mark the location of the lid when you have a good seal so that you can get the exact same location every time; good plan. So nearly 100 sets of dice, several custom mold sets, shaker castings and small charms later "Dreamy Dice", my daughters craft business, has used this pot about 50 times and it is functioning perfectly. And as noted in the video at a huge cost savings.

If you used the regulator, you could set it to the pressure you want and it would just fill to that level. The one my pot from harbor freight came with leaked air, replaced it with a new one. Now addressing other leaks.

Another great video. I like the way you streamlined the lid. The elbow (I believe was labeled “paint outlet”) could be removed and sealed with a plug for an even “cleaner look” ( plus one less fitting to leak😝). You have evolved quite a bit from when you first started. Hats off to you for being so creative.

FYI Safety: At 4:00, you are putting a NPT cap which has tapered threads, onto straight threads. That elbow has NPT going to the cover, but a compression fitting going out. I suggest you buy a NPT plug and ditch that elbow altogether. When you put tapered threads onto straight ones, you are not getting equal pressure across all of the threads. A good chance it'll never fail. But if it does, it'll be that cap shooting off.

Love this video but the paint pot you linked doesn't have removable parts - been trying to get both the fluid tube and quick release unscrewed for an hour and a half now but they're glued in and at this point I'm just shearing off metal trying anymore. Tried rubbing alcohol to loosen the glue but no results. Any ideas?

"pressurized all night" you started with 40 PSI and your gauge read 25 PSI before you bled the pressure. the teflon tape does nothing. the original seal is horrible too. you need to use pneumatic thread sealer or you're going to get leaks. these pots aren't designed to hold pressure like that for 24+ hours. so we need to do more than add a couple wraps of plumbers tape. the lid leaks and you should use two part silicone to make a proper gasket. hand tight isn't enough either. substitute the wingnut style bolts with hex bolts and use a wrench to tighten the clamps down. leaving this comment to help people get this pressure pot to actually work.
