This happens with all kinds of guns nowadays. I recently bought a Mossberg shotgun and had many problems. It took almost a year to get a refund for the piece of junk after going back and forth with the company and the place I bought it. My sons very expensive Benelli also has parts falling off it. It takes months to even find spare parts. My old guns from 1970s and earlier never need a darn thing!

@@stevenrichards3699 Because they are outsourcing the metal (barrels) to third world countries, and assembling the shit in Italy, jacking the price. As to the Hatfield, it's made in Turkey, I consider them disposables. I use adapters, so I have to pay attention to barrels, because their two kinds of barrels (brain fart on the name), but if you use a high pressure round, the barrel could pop for the weaker one. Never had this problem when we actually manufactured stuff at reasonable prices.

The reason it seems like old guns are better overall is because all the bad guns from 40+ years ago were already scrapped or destroyed years ago. So generally, only the good ones survived this long. Mossberg makes great shotguns, they have a military contract for a reason, the Mossberg 500 passed all those trials back when those mattered. Any company can make bad guns, the bad ones over time will go away and the good ones will be left. 40 years from now, people will think we used to make better guns now, lol. They made more shitty guns back in the 70s than they do now, i'd bet, because there was no internet. It was easier to get away with making bad guns and it would take longer for people to find out over time, that's why the term "saturday night special" is from the 70s. Its about a shitty pistol someone might rob a liquor store with. I have a pocket pistol from the late 70s and it's the worst gun I own.

I Bought the 20 ga, had an issue with the spent shells jamming, and a new one loading up. Took it all apart, disassembled the trigger assembly, polished everything that looked rough or had a bit of a sharp edge, put it all back together, and has worked great since. For the price point, I figured it would have some issues, along with the reviews I read. It was a simple fix.

Mine runs like a freight train, I even like it a little better than my Remington 1100 ! Maybe you got one that was built on a Monday. Mine did jam occasionally when it was brand new, but regular cleaning and oiling with synthetic motor oil, with 200 rounds of trap shooting, broke it in nicely, so it cycles like butter. Sorry you got shit on, but sometimes things just slip up at the factory. Maybe some disgruntled employee was just being a jag that day, and thought it would be funny to deliberately install something wrong.

I can see how disappointed you are. Felt like a good deal initially only to turn bad. My son went through a similar ordeal. Didnt have/want to spend money on a high end semi but was disappointed by the cheaper stuff. In the end he went with the base model Franchi Affinity. Its been great. Works really well, takes some punishment and didnt break the bank ether.

the trigger assembly pin is notoriously week and can be lose and not secured - and can actually fall out - and since it holds in the trigger assembly - you are infor a shocker when the shotgun is fired - as you found out - as some in the comments say - use Loctite to set that pin - actually the trigger pin - it seems to have a slight bend/curvature - and if removed - rotated and lightly driven back in - it will lock in much better - also do n ot over tighten the forend barrel cap screw - it can cause the forend to take a harsh load when firing the gun - and seems to crack the forend - i have a SAS12C - cammo - with synthetic stock and forend - hold up better to a tight cap screw - my SAS 28 has wood and no issues with it.

When considering anything in the lower price bracket I try to really figure out what it actually cost to make the item. If it sells for $215 bucks retail.... Well Walmart has to make a profit... so does the manufacturer... So what your buying is a shotgun that was produced for somewhere in the $115 to $150 range. That should answer any question you have before ever picking it up.
@kuriboh635

Just a couple of things. If the mag tube went flying like you said than most likely you didn't assemble it properly after cleaning, that is the most common reason for malfunctions like that but you also possibly assembled the spring assembly wrong which loosed the action by not allowing the system to run properly like it was designed to. Another is the weight and i dont want to be that guy but Google says its 7.75 pounds which is pretty standard for most semiauto shotguns if not slightly heavier but not by a lot. Also this is comparable in weight to an m4a1 with quad rail for comparison. Lastly they did fix the gun im assuming for only the cost of sending it to them, this is probably great service on a non us made gun especially when its only a $200 shot gun they wouldn't have to put a warranty on and most peoplewouldn'tbat an eye, time for a gun smith is expensive and not a shit pile of them to choose from these days so waiting is definitely something that will happen when you're not the most important or first person on the list.

First off, you paid $200 for it, it's not ever going to be a $800 Bennelli. I bought one and when I got it home I took it apart and cleaned it, same as I do with any new gun. Mine had a couple of hiccups, first was the gas ri gs kept losing a spring, found out I needed to use the magnum ring. Next the fore end split, I was using TSS rounds, they sent me a new one. Now I have it fixed and it runs everything just fine. I mean every round, type of shell. I turned mine into my main turkey gun, it shoots right with my friends who owns Remingtons a d even Bennelli. I DO recommend Hatfield SAS 12ga. I put a Jebs headhunter choke tube in it, I use a Meadowcreek mount with a Swampfox Kingslayer optic. I added a sling and it has been a great gun, probably got over a thousand rounds through it. Every manufacturer has a bad one come out every now and then.

My Dad bought one. It was a piece of junk. It wouldn’t cycle anything but 3inch BBB waterfowl ammo. He’s going to disassemble, reclean, and sand and polish as many moving parts as he can. I hope it turns out ok. I got a Tristar Viper at the same time. It has been OK, but won’t feed all low brass ammo. I keep having people tell me that all semi-autos can be finicky with ammo. We shall see how things go with both of our guns.

We're seeing mostly good reviews for the Hatfield single-shot shotguns, but when it comes to the Hatfield pump and semi-auto we're seeing a lot of people having problems with them Sadly, Mossberg has recently started gouging its customers by wanting 504.00 for a mere Mossberg 500 .410 pump 😲 Just 3 years ago, I only paid 258.00 for the Mossberg 410 pump and just because of communist china's covid virus, does not justify Mossberg to double the cost to us

And you repeat yourself quite a lot and it makes your videos confusing but you said in the one vudeo that you shot 15 rounds and it cycles reliably but jn your most recent video you say its junk. Sooo… is the gun junk still? If you want a good shotgun for that cheap, get the maverick 88. Its not a semi auto but it is pretty mich the same as a mossy 500.
