Follow these easy steps to rid yourself of that annoying seat belt chime. **TOGETHER We can save lives, just wear your seat belt** Weellllcome back FAM, this afternoon I wanted to show you guys how to turn off the pesky seat belt chime. Some of us who are in construction, or landscapers...etc...sometimes have to quickly move the vehicle to a new spot, cmon do we really need to hear this annoying chime, NOT ANY MORE. It works. Page 43 of my 2021 super duty Manuel. Note, I have a push button start. After pushing the bottom (not starting the engine) it takes 1 minute for the seatbelt indicator to disappear. Then you must start the “click and unclick” of the buckle within 30 seconds of the indicator turning off. If you wait longer than 30 seconds it won’t work and you have to start over. FYI - Just did this on a 2022 F250 XLT 7.3 and it took well over a minute for the seat belt light to go out. Everything else outlined worked and I was able to disable the chime! Thx!

I used to disable the seat belt minder in my 2001 Crown Vic Interceptor with this method; however I think we had to have the headlights switched on too. That ding would give you away at 02:00am when slowly sneaking down a street to apprehend car burglars. We'd unbuckle our seat belts when we turned down the street in question, black out our lights, roll down the window and listen for the bad guys. You'd be surprised how loud that chime is on a dark quiet night. Dang I miss those days!

Again you are the man 2014 F350 6.7 It takes a minute for the light to prove out but followed your steps and worked like a charm. Now when I start the truck the seatbelt light comes on I could pull away without it chiming And light proves out again within a minute thumbs up brother

Man-o-man, that worked great on my 2021 Super Duty. Super annoying at my ranch, opening and closing gates without that stupid chime is great! Like others have said, my 2021 required waiting for about a minute for the light to turn off in the beginning and everything after that is the same. Thanks ARod!

20 F250 7.3 V8 - I did this and mine worked but some diffs... my Light comes on when I start it and dings initially several times, then the light stays on as I drive but goes out in 30 secs but it never dings the whole time. Waiting for my trip to dealer to have a recall on Backup camers done and some things like when i hard turn steering wheel it makes a CLUNK CLUNK sound as its turning. Then i will FORSCAN some options in the system to my preferences. Thanks for the VID!

For what it’s worth it takes 20-30 seconds for the seatbelt light to initially go off after turning the key on before you do the click unclick sequence. I screwed up the first time I tried and had to rewatch the video where a-rod says to let the light go out. After that it worked as expected. Thanks arod!

Regardless if the time it took, i believe i said YOU have 2 wait until the light goes off. It too is in your owners manual. You can read verbatim right therr in the glove box

I just tried it on my 2011 Explorer with keyless starting. I turned it fully on with brake on. Then attached and detached the seatbelt 4 times. It turned off the seatbelt dinger.

Just wondering if you could point me in the right direction? I’ve been towing with my 17 and now when I hit the brake pedal it says trailer connected or trailer disconnected when I’m not towing. Also sometimes when I put the blinkers on it tells me there’s a bulb out and starts blinking quick.

I’ve seen the a bunch on online forums but never a solution. You’re awesome and any insight would be amazing.

I don’t mind he reminder, rarely drive away without my belt on. What’s nice to me is after driving if I unhook it say after getting the mail it doesn’t chime me driving down my long driveway. My wife’s car drives me crazy the chime is so loud and annoying. The only thing I don’t like about mine so far is the lack of a voltmeter. Is there something hidden for that one?

I wonder if this works with the F150s with the electronic parking brake. I tried to do this according to the owner's manual instructions but it did not work. But I didn't activate the parking brake.

You are right, it works. And you have to be exact to the letter, even the 5 second wait after the light goes out. Now I can drive down my long driveway to get my mail without listening to that chime all the way.

Worked on my 2016 F350, just be patient on seatbelt light to go out before you start the sequence. It takes about 60 seconds for it to turn off.

Sorry i meant seat belt light. I tried a couple of times. Thought maybe having a different dash may change things. Thanks

Got it to work on the 2020 and my 17 f150. Took about 10 mins to go out , pretty cold here. Thanks willl defiantly help on farm and jobsite. Apprciate your response and your channel !!

How about the dinging from leaving your key in the ignition? I farm and have a contracting business and leave my key in the ignition and get in and out of the truck a lot

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod while I've got you on here I had a question. My 2019 showed a p20ee code from my buddys scanner. I'm at the Ford dealership now and it shows threshold below efficiency.. they're doing a computer rescan it shows it's at 76.8% it's supposed to be at 75 does that sound right?

Something tells me there are quite a few “secret” things one can do on the alumiduty we don’t know about. For instance, the “Advance Trac Sport Mode.”

If I knew what they were, I wouldn’t tell. Hahaha. I have a 2018 with 61,000 I purchased new and I’m still learning. Most of the time by accident.
