It is a frequency glitch and the Tardis will solve it and all will be reverted back to the real spirit of the Doctor :) that is my head canon. But lucky me I didnt venture past 11's exit. I have no doubt Capaldi is great, but the scripts were not. So the finale for me is the ending scene in the 50th special between Tom Baker and Matt Smith. Gallifrey is still out there waiting for him to return home. :)

Exactly. It was Doctor Who. Its now Doctor Woke Indoctrination. Any classic era story, its just that. A story about a Time Lord battling evil. Now the show cant get through ten minutes without mentioning how Gay / Lesbian / Black or Feminist someone is....And most of the stories are just all about mentioning that as much as possible the rest takes a back seat. This series is going to start low in ratings and end up even worse. Another Whitaker downward trend over the whole run is going to be the case and it will be interesting watching the BBC, RTD, Gaywa and the Thick Tockers this is aimed at trying to explain it away. Its not us thats wrong..its the rest of you bigots etc....

@@Simon-xc5oy Well I hope they are ready to live with the fact that the first gay, black Doctor will also be the LAST Doctor because unless we see Disney+ numbers SOAR because of this, which seems insanely unlikely, Disney won't keep paying for it. I'm actually glad this is separate from the rest of "New Who" because frankly it's NOT Doctor Who and shouldn't even be associated with Doctor Who. This is the Ghostbusters 2016 of the Ghostbusters franchise.

@@Simon-xc5oy He also already had the 2nd lowest Doctor debut of ANY doctor. The only one that premiered lower was the 1st Doctor and that was because it premiered the same day Kennedy was killed. Not to mention it was a Christmas special of all things and still pulled shit numbers.

The blurbs on some Target novels in 1981 convinced me that Doctor Who was nothing like the space opera stuff I preferred at that time. Made me stay away from the Doctor for decades... the fantasy element was always quite strong in those stories, but I started to like it for the themes played through, or some actors depicting the Doctor or even some silly skits or pompous speeches😎

The comparison is Michelle Gomez who played Missy, who was very good and the chemistry with Capaldi was amazing. I would have preferred to have her take over the Doctor's mantle and try to live up to his ideals, however the BBC were desperate to have The Doctor be female.

My sister was obsessed with that show. Personally, I preferred Angel. But what little I know of Buffy is that Willow wasn't originally a lesbian. Her lesbianism feels shoehorned in like Ellie's from The Last of Us. I remember Willow being into guys before Joss decided to randomly make her gay for no reason once so ever other than just to do it.

In Christopher Ecclestone's era, Captain Jack Harkness was a bit of a weak spot because he didn't get a proper character arc. He just instantly transitioned from conman to hero without the build up, which is a stark contrast to how well developed the Doctor and Rose were. However, that felt like a legitimate writing mistake due to the lack of time left in the season instead of an attempt to make bisexual people look superior. It helped that John Barrowman has mad charisma and Jack was fleshed out very well throughout Torchwood and the David Tennant era since his immortality was completely independent from his sexuality. There was a lot they could do without constantly obsessing about who he slept with.

whitaker was just a bad actor for the doctor. Her take was just imitation of previous doctors and she never gave it her own spin. Gatwa is just giving to much of his own spin. The doctor was never about sexuality gay or straight. Now it is all about sexuality. As a gay person i do not want to see this.

The funny thing about it is it’s obviously not being done to increase the audience. The number one reason why women start tuning into the doctor when they rebooted the series was because they thought the doctor was cute. Girls and women who would’ve never watched it before were tuning in because they thought David Tennant was cute. He was close enough to the original series for people who watched the original series to enjoy it, but he was young and the included a romance with rose for the female viewers. Do you think those women who are watching for a cute doctor and a romance were interested in a female doctor or a gay male doctor? They’re not making a product for anybody. Because the LGBTQ community is not even watching this.

Dr Who began as a loveable eccentric old scientist, who created a marvelous machine to travel through time and space taking his granddaughter on wild and exotic adventures. There have been great actors portraying the good Dr... Cushing, Pertwee and T. Baker are my favorites. But... like Star Wars, has been so remade and reshaped so many times, it's totally unrecognizable from it origins.

I stopped watching after JW's first episode. My disappointment is that the Doctor isn't a straight white British man. You couldn't pay me to watch Doctor WTF now. Get me a distinguished English gentleman as the Doctor, someone with stage presence and a baritone voice that carries to the back seats in the theater. Until then, GTFO.

During the David Tennant and Matt Smith eras I couldn't go anywhere without hearing people discuss the show, ask where they thought the show was going, who "The Eye Patch Lady" was. The merchandise was everywhere, Doctor Who logos on 1 out of 6 cars on the street or in any given parking lot. Now? I haven't heard of anyone talk about the show. I haven't seen any merchandise. No Doctor Who decals on anything. If a burger restaurant was a huge hit with all beef patties and french fries fried in lard with a family friendly atmosphere and the new manager swapped to an all vegan menu with an atmosphere of hating anyone who wanted a place to bring their children and all the devoted customers left, the owner of said restaurant would be smart to fire that manager and get a manager who was smart enough to go back to what was successful. Somehow, Hollywood and Disney seem to think that ignoring the fans, ignoring what worked and doubling down on what isn't popular is going to somehow turn a profit. I am not a business major, but I know that the key to success and making money is not to piss off your customers, but instead, give them what they want. In the case of Doctor Who, an hour of escapism with a madman who has a box that can travel in time and space who will take us on an adventure.

It's hilarious hearing these things talk about having women or diversity in shows when I remember watching a couple of 80's movies the other week. Guess what? Every single one of them would qualify as having an appropriate amount of women or "diversity" to these people. You know what the difference is? They didn't make the movie and go out of their way to have people of a certain gender or race, like these modern woke racists and sexists do. They just casted people in roles and the people in those roles acted like people, who happen to be women, black, white, brown, etc. They didn't act like blacks or women that are trying to be people, which is how the modern left sees people. These people are IDENTICAL to the people of the past that they label as racist or sexist. They are quite literally creating boxes for people and expect those people to act in accordance with the rules of those boxes. It is utterly fascinating seeing them put people in camps and then claim that the characteristics associated with those camps don't define them. Why are you putting people in boxes, based on external characteristics, if those characteristics don't define them, with respect to their character or personality? How do you square this round hole? You can't. Laugh these things out of the room.

No doubt Capaldi was a great Doctor. But I'm not venturing past Matt Smith's exit because I dont want to endure the bad scripts Capaldi got. Dr Who ended for me with 11th Doctor. I like the scene in the 50th special where Tom Baker and Matt Smith talk about Gallifrey. To me that is the ending, the Doctor finds out his home is still out there and he will forever travel and run to find it. I like that ending for him.

When they first made it clear that the doctor could change race there were a bunch of people who were saying a particular actor who is playing an IT nerd at the time would make a great doctor. I don’t think people are worried about skin color or sexual orientation after all we like torchwood and you’re pretty much had to be gay or bisexual to work there. So he gonna twerk and dance and sing and for some reason David Tennant when he came back regenerated his clothes, but then this generation each got half the clothes so he’s running around in his tidy Whiteys? I miss the days when you say you didn’t like choice for James Bond or Doctor Who without being attacked for being a racist, bigot homophobe, sexist monster, which of course makes you wanna point out the actual reasons you don’t like a thing. Personally, I don't care if the Doctor is male, female, black, white or even polka dotted as long as whoever is playing the character does it justice by not only upholding the past but also adding their take on it too. If the story writing isn't good, then it won't matter how good the actor is. According to BBC though, there won't ever be an American actor playing the Doctor.

The moment I knew the season was dead on arrival was when I saw the Goblins, and they just called them 'Goblins'. That is not a Doctor Who monster, thats some weird cross-over shit. Thats all I could think about while watching it. Also the Language of a Horse or Baby is a funny running gag, but the Language of String?! I was a bit puzzled by that...
