This guy makes me sick. He tries to make you believe that he fell in love with her brain and personality in 45 days. Like he wasn’t physically attracted to the younger woman. Then to blame everything on his wife, her anger, she is controlling, her attitude at parties……What a complete loser who deserves everything he got and more. I hope he lives with it daily.

He didn't keep the proceeds from the book. He donated the profits to a Golden Retriver rescue charity. Ive read the book and I found it to be honest and he came across genuine to me. While I agree that he made some seriously selfish decisions, completely ignored his wife's cries for help, each person in this situation bears their own weight of blame. Each person behaved badly and took this whole affair to the absolute extreme. I believe he is sharing this story because it is so tragic and because a lot can be learned here. While I do not particularly find him appealing, two other women did, and it cost them. I am sure he will live with this tragedy far longer than anyone else here. The moral of this story is to keep your own autonomy and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Cheating is a betrayal that very few recover from just like staying in a marriage with a person who consistently walks all over your boundaries. I think their marriage should have ended many years ago. We all have a breaking point.

It is disgusting that he’s profiting from this nightmare. He should actually donate all profits from the book to a suicide prevention initiative or to a mental health clinic considering he set forth a series of actions which culminated in this horrible outcome. His wife lost her job, had to relocate to a place with no contacts or friends. Realized her pathetic excuse for a man husband was cheating on her with his boss, so she was losing the pathetic excuse as well so basically her whole life was crumbling around her. If there would have been at least one person around her that actually cared about her they would have talked her out of it, helped her find a new job, a more deserving better man. She would still be alive as well as the other woman and the other two could have ridden into the sunset ….until he found yet another exciting and smart woman to replace the replacement with.

When his WIFE says "please don't institutionalize me" after a SUICIDE attempt because he hurt her, he tells her he won't if she calls her parents and hey go find a shrink and take meds. This is this guy's level of commitment and now 2 women are dead. His wife is 100% responsible for the murder but he's not so great for treating women like they're disposable. At least he realizes he messed up. What a tragic story. I'm so sorry for everyone involved, including him. He cheated but even a cheater doesn't deserve these consequences. And the therapist discounting her diagnosis of PTSD is bs. Has she even met this woman? A person with BPD most certainly can also have PTSD. It isn't any more "rare" for a person with BPD to experience trauma than it is for any other person. Actually it's MORE likely she'd experience trauma! So a soldier in a war is going to have less trauma if he has BPD??? THat's so incredibly stupid. So stupid I had to ask my partner, a psychologist ,and he said a person with BPD is MORE likely to have BPD. Dr. Oz had a quack on this show. It's frightening that people like her are working in mental health. PTSD is serious stuff.

Do not conclude that she was sick and justify that what he did is right for others to follow. In my view, the husband who wants to use his wife as a stepping stone for his next life is fully to be blamed for the two lives. He could hvae divorced her, given her time to process, and then dated another lady. Dealing with a human being who lived with him for more than 2 decades, lost her job, and needed a lot of support. it is not like TV you can switch it on and off when you do not want to see that person. One should handle it adequately, if you do it the right way people respect the other person's decision. I wish he did not say anything bad about her instead of taking full responsibility for his actions that led to the loss of two beautiful women.
