Dodge Stratus / Chrysler Sebring CV Axle Shaft Drive Shaft Removal and Replacement!
► Our Website for Tools, Parts and more Videos: mechaniclifestyle.com
We took this video to show you how to remove and replace the CV axle / drive shaft on a Dodge Stratus Second Generation. It should be about the same procedure from 2001-2006 for the 2.4 and the 2.7 engine. It should also be about the same for the Chrysler Sebring from 2001-2006 since they are twin cars.
It is not very complicated procedure but you will need tools and some Penetrating Oil (Pb blaster) especially if you drive north. You suspension will have more rust so it is a good idea to soak them overnight. The easiest way to take the big nut that is in the middle of the hub is by using a Impact gun; however, if you do not have one you will need to have one person pushing the brake inside the vehicle and you will need a brake over bar and a big pipe for leverage.
It is about the same procedure for the passenger side as well.
It should work on:
2001 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2002 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2003 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2004 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2005 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2006 Dodge Stratus Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2001 Chrysler Sebring Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2002 Chrysler Sebring Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2003 Chrysler Sebring Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2004 Chrysler Sebring Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
2005 Chrysler Sebring Left Right CV Axle 2.4 and 2.7 engine
