It is no secret that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the most popular video games in history. All it takes is a quick search on Google or KZfaq and you’ll find hundreds upon hundreds of reviews praising it to no end - from critics and fans alike. Some would even consider it to be the greatest game ever made - after all, it paved the way forwards for the Zelda series, marking its first leap into the third dimension. When you look at the entries that came after, like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, it’s clear that a lot of their DNA can be traced back to Ocarina of Time from their structure, to their combat, to their dungeon design. It didn’t just influence the Zelda franchise though - Ocarina of Time was also revolutionary for the gaming industry as a whole with its camera controls and targeting system blazing a trail for many future adventure games to follow. But 1998 was a long time ago and things have come a long way since then. So this has left me with one question on my mind: Does The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time stand the test of time?

Almost failed my degree because of this game! But I still remember the game like it was yesterday. Played it through twice before making 2 of my brothers play it (so I could go through it again and again...). Great video

It’s a great game and yes it revolutionized many things I think even the 3ds remaster still has its issues but yes I think it still holds up

You're one of the first people who pronounces Kakariko the way I do! I used to pronounce it the common way for many years until I heard some British dude pronounce it the way I do now (the way you also pronounce it). I believe it was in Hyrule warriors that we heard. It pronounced the way that I used to pronounce it, but I still pronounce it the way you do because I think it sounds a bit more anglicized. Great video by the way, hope you find success on KZfaq.

Thanks for the kind words! My uncle was the one who introduced me to Zelda and he always pronounced Kakariko that way, so I think I must've picked it up from him!

This series and the Metroid series really made the Nintendo experience untouchable. I’m actually shocked I haven’t seen you do a Metroid video, would love to hear your analysis of what I would say is the best series ever made

I have to hand it to ocarina of time, it allowed me to discover my favourite game series of all time... Thanks to the fact that I traded in the 3ds remake for monster hunter 4 after intially disliking it. Thanks OOT!
