This comment contains spoilers for Lost Light #10. Lost Light #10 was a definite return to form for the series. Not only was it the best issue of Lost Light so far, but it also felt up there with some of the best issues of More Than Meets the Eye. We think we know what's going down, and the first time reading through it's ominous. We know that Getaway and the rest of the crew are fucking with them, and we're just waiting for the moment where everything will click for First Aid and the others. But upon reaching the ending, the story gains a whole new feeling, it's scary. It really felt like a new issue of mtmte tonally and story wise. But if anything, this has me worried. The next two parts can not possibly live up to this, there's just no way. I mean, maybe the next won't be awful, but they're gonna have a real hard time following this up. I really hope this isn't just a one off, and that the rest of the comic's run will have a similar standard of quality.

After reading all of Lost Light, I have to say it was a good series. Not as good as MTMTE, but still solid 8/10.

Lost lights problem was that Roberts was told at the last minute that the series would be shortened in half: so many things were lost like swerve’s depression suppression, rewind(the prints universe hopper), the scavengers etc

I actually lost interest in some of the Lost Light issues after Megs was left behind (which I was really irritated with BTW--I wanted more Megs as an Autobot.) But now it is starting to pick up again when we find out what happening to the Lost Light crew. It has its ups and downs but it was okay over all. I still do like the previous arcs better in MTMTE.

Now that IDW 2005 continuity's totally done, I can say that LL definitely wasn't as good as MTMTE, but I like the Crucible storyline. The ending was bittersweet.

Normalizing means not making a big deal, big explanation about it, that's why I didn't like that scene... I loved the LGBT rep in MTMTE because everything is just normal to them. When Nautica corrects Skids that one time he just goes "my bad" and it dies there... That scene makes it feel like is a completely different world where gender is viewed the same way is viewed in the real world.

"Cluttered" That's the word I have been looking for. Yes. Perfect adjective I would use to describe this continuation. I mean, have you read issue 12? The actual shit. It's like they're aiming for something but are continually missing it, and just end up vomiting onto the pages of these issues in the attempts to get it all out there. Pacing is key mine friends.

Suck? No. Have a lot of problems? It's difficult for me to argue otherwise. There's a lot of pacing/plot/investment assumptions in the opening 6 parter that don't pay off...and I've still no idea what the norm for this series is intended to be. It's...tricky. Issue 10 is great though

I really didn't like how Nautica is behaving in Lost Light, I know she lost Skids, but she is almost a total different person now. And I read this comment in TFW2005 and I totally agree with it, Chromedome and Rewind should have stayed back in the Functionist Universe. There is nothing more to develope this characters, no Dominus Ambus, or Chromedome's addiction (he even left it!) or Chromedome mysterious past... And maybe Anode would have been more bearable if she learned (and issue #8 demostrated that no) the consequences of her actions. She even resurrected her girlfriend from a flower, when a few issues ago we were reminder again that one flower is composed of multiple sparks! And Rossum's Trinity? A really interesting concept of Season 1? Where's that now? Agh, and I know Jack Lawrence tries and all that, but it's not the same that Alex Milne. I would have prefered if Brendan Cahill, Nick Roche or even Sakamoto became the regular artist.

To be fair, you need a high IQ to understand Transformers: Lost Light.

I love the whole saga feel, you know this is expanding far bigger. Not only that but the vast of characters on show, the vast amount of different personalities that clash. It takes you on a journey that you don't know where you'll end up at. Its most definately a story with characters that WILL go over peoples head, (mentioned below by someone). Hello, Mr. Plane. I enjoyed your video. I don't have problems with #7. It worked for me as part-denouement, on Tailgate, and part-relaunch. #8-#9 yes. The s/he dialogue can work through the casualness of gender-swap among machines in contrast to organics, us. Cough. The casualness can work because it's delivered by Anode who's shallow and abrasive. Cough. Primarily, it jars because it's, well, preaching to the choir. There's a recurring problem with these two issues being so on the nose. This is more evident in the central themes of death and grief. The plot and dialogue felt a bit like one of those yankee teevee series were a valuable moral lesson is learned, one nobody outside the studio was aware of. Certainly James' heart was in the right place because death and grief are such a forking constant. I just felt, as you do, that these were a disposable, content-slim detour. I've appreciated most of #10-#18 with some minor exceptions. Hope you have too. Oh p.s. MTMTE always was top heavy with character and activity. Conversely, that's part of its charm. I agree with some of the criticism here, but I have to say that, while Lost Light isn't as good as MTMTE, I feel that it's a worthy continuation. It's one of those stories, just like MTMTE, where I personally still love the characters I dislike. Which includes Anode, I find her amusing, especially because she makes Lug freak out, which often makes it funnier. I also feel like the bar conversation was important (which is probably going to upset a lot of people) not because I feel like people have to justify that choice, or that it doesn't matter and that it's something to brush aside, but because it's an important thing to bring up, not just for the characters but for the readers too who might feel the same way, or help them be more understanding. And the fact that they just move on from it is, in my opinion at least, to show that it doesn't matter what gender they choose, they're still as capable and that it's not important to the story as much as to a reader who feels the same way. Lost Light is, and probably always will be, one of the best stories I've ever read, because it feels like an absolute whirlwind that every time you pick it up, more and more references fall into place and make you go "oh! That makes sense this time!". That gives it a sense of you reading a new story every time you revisit it, and to be able to immerse yourself more than once in a story where every character (or almost at least) feels like a friend or grandparent you haven't seen telling you a wild story that has advice in there somewhere, but the joy really comes from seeing them relive the tale themselves.

mi problema con anode no es que fuera trans, sino que la introdujeron para llenar el hueco de skids, quien fue un personaje muy importante y personalmente le agarre mucho cariño; y le pusieron una personalidad muy repelente, al punto de que quieres separar a lug de ella y protegerla...y lanzarla al aire varias veces porque es adorable verla volar. anode es como ese personaje que se enfrasca en que es trans, quiere que todos sepan que es trans, mientras los demas quieren regresar a casapor que estan cansados de vercomo su mundo se cae. su forma de actuar estuvo fuera de lugar pero, no es mal personaje porque puedes agarrarle cariño. sino que la situacion y como se desenvolvio no fueron las optimas para ella y eso hace que al lector no le agrade.

In defense of Issue 7 being filler: A LOT of shit happened before it, so it seemed like a good breather. I do however feel like Chasing the infinite was a terrible arc and I hate it for blueballing me on bringing back Skids. I also agree that I kind of hate Anode and Lug for adding nothing to the story.

Okay I know I'm most likely really late to the party, but I liked Lost Light, yeah the Transgender robots was a little "Why though" but eh it made a little bit of sense to me at least, I got a bit bored at times too, but I really don't like how the artwork was early on, the heads felt too big in places, the color didn't have this feeling that MTMTE did. I don't know if the artwork changed or not, or maybe I just got used to it, but early on it just looked weird. But it didn't give me any feels which I think is a loss.

Didn't know ppl would hate it already, sure it does seem slower in pacing but there's ample time fer redemption. Besides, some of you may just be nitpicky with yer complaints

I have a really hard time getting into Lost Light, it's just not the same, the introduction of Anode it's a little bit out place for me and I just really hate the character, and that scene... I also know where they're coming from (jokingly an sjw view) but it just doesn't make any sense here because they're transformers, it doesn't matter since they're asexual what's the point? People have told it me has gotten better but after that issue I just can't bring myself to read Lost Light again...

THe art really suckas and teh politics are too prominete. Its not bad, just not as beautiful, heart provoking and rich as MTMTE. I liked Rodimus and megatron though even though Megatron was bearly in it. It would have been cool to see a new comic sereies abou Megatorn int eh fucntinist universe, working with orion pax. Also, i kind of love the tf fanbase: not as toxic as other fanbases

I personally don't see much of an issue with it when you think about it from a "its so that it makes sense" kinda thing. 1.Anode is a Cybertronian, not a Colonist. 2. There are no Naturally occurring female Cybertronians. 1-2B. They make an in depth explanation that can fix issues that have appeared in the past, not just to expand on Anode, but to intern, retroactively fix things that had become issues. Is Anode a good character in my opinion? No, but she's not a bad character. She's mediocre.

At first, I love with Bay's films. Then I got tired of them. And then I hated them. It's the same with IDW. Love. Doubt. Tire. Hate. What they turned my favorite characters into, how they ruined them with a bunch of unnecessary LGBT fanservice, how they destroyed all their scriptwriting achievements and in the end simply went crazy, is worthy of nothing but contempt. And it's good that they lost their license. Their time is over.
