I'm becoming obsessed with this....When I was a kid, my immigrant family never heard of a dollar store (this is back in the mid-80s), and so my 2nd grad classmates tried to explain the concept to me ("everything's a dollar!") in the way that only seven-year-old dumdums can, so I ran back to my Polish, non-English speaking family and told them all that there's a store where everything's a dollar. So, we went there like the Joads only to learn that not everything was a dollar...

Now THAT is a coat, Nick. In Toronto, our Dollar Store - Dollarama - changed its name to Dollarama+ so that they could raise the prices. Still, it is less expensive than going to other stores. (Aside to other Torontonians: do you all remember when we had Biway stores? As a teen in the 80s I used to get designer Christina swimsuits for $15 which used to be $100 in the big department stores. Plus I got a designer trenchcoat with a wool zip in lining made in Romania for $20. I wore that coat for 10 years. They don't make stuff like that any more)

I used to work for Dollar Tree 11 years Asst Mgr Store Mgr. It was ok at first but they went public and cut so many hours and said Mr Store Mgr you are salaried and can work more hours 55-60 per week. I told them GFY. The lowest I go anymore is Walmart. Love the video.

Your first issue is that Dollar General is not a "dollar store" the way Dollar Tree is. It's just a discount store.

Dollar Tree is so much better, price-wise! It took me years to start shopping there, but now I go often! I buy a lot for the classroom and since I don't get reimbursed, it pays to shop there! Love the bloopers Nick!

Why is it giving me Scranton/Wilkes Barre/ Allentown vibes?! I work in Manhattan, but just bought a house in PA to get away from Manhattan. I like being able to walk outside and smell trees and flowers rather than raw sewage, I like seeing deer, bunnies, and bears, rather than homeless people using the corner of buildings as bathrooms. But, in the area thus far I have seen (other then massive candy and candle shops) it’s been one dollar store after another, and if isn’t a dollar store, it’s a liquor and cigarette store.
