If I'm not mistaken, really old videos don't get taken down. Like videos from before KZfaq was bought by Google or something. I may be wrong, but I'm sure something like that exists. Also why so many old anime openings are still lying around when newer versions in HD got taken down.

Kiiiiinda. But now, it's more of a cesspool of opinions, ads, politics, scams, streams, etc. And everybody is trying to be internet famous.
