Inio Asano's Downfall manga follows a mangaka called Kaoru Fukazawa who has just finished his latest manga and is stuck between the melancholy of life, love, and coming up with a brand new manga idea. As with other Inio Asano manga, Downfall by Inio Asano is a rather bleak look at the manga industry through the eyes of Inio Asano's characters.

Just finished it myself, I always appreciate a good review or two after reading a manga to help organize my own thoughts on the story, and possibly catch some stuff I may have missed, or misunderstood. Thank you for a great review!!

So basically this is a shoutout to Shonen Jump canceling manga that has great potential but due to sales and not hitting the ratings if it doesn't hit a million copies or is popular after *WEEK ONE* shit gets canceled fast. Damn! It could also be like this with other magazine manga companies but Shonen Jump is an infamous example of this. I feel like this is what most mangaka is life when their series doesn't become a huge hit and their lives are basically Downfall but real life. I wonder how many people the creator had to interview to make this manga feel for the mangaka? I'll share this with a few guys I know.

I definitely want to give this a read, I’ve yet to read any of his work but this sounds interesting and so different to what I’m use to :)

Great video as always! I ha d the same thought about this being auto biographical. Too many slight coincidences. You pointed out how much he looks like young Asano and I agree. Also... take a look at chapter 4 page 4. "Good"night PunPun - 13 volumes. "Good"bye Sunset - 13 volumes (I can't be the only one who caught this so far lol). There was a point too where the mangaka says his manga isn't published in a Shonen magazine which also stands true for Asano. Way too cool.

The best thing for any creator is to set themselves apart from their previous work, and still be just as good if not greater. I remeber how Linkin Park always "changed" their genre yet kept themselves original.

On a side note did Dead Demon manga ends cause I currently have the first two volumes and I am planning on getting the rest. Also, Good Night Pun Pun is one of my favorite manga ever. Glad you did this review. I will check out this manga and see how it holds up to Pun Pun.

This manga was gifted to me by a friend and i was struggling to want to pick it up. i only got 3 or 4 minutes into your video here and it sounds like i will enjoy the time spent on it. I'll come back and finish the video in a few days after i finish Downfall.

(Spoiler) Most likely found another wealthier customer since she left him on read and still she was available at the Fairy story shop list as if nothin happened as deducted by Fukusawa.
