My EXACT thoughts. I was reminiscing about my rehab roommates and I imagined how it might be to have katya as a roommate and then she said “…HE snored” about the roommate and it was such a shocker for a moment until I remembered katya would never have been my roommate cause he would be with the dudes. I’d enjoy katya as a roomie lol

I will never not find it gross when a cisman tries to explain gendered oppression to a ciswoman. It's entirely acceptable for Elliott to say "this kind of roleplay makes me uncomfortable, I don't want to do it" but to try to tell George that she shouldn't want her temporary fantasy is out of line

Yeah for all he knows it could be a coping mechanism. Let her have her fun and trust her when she tells you that's what she wants. It's a little annoying that they don't watch some crutial parts of the show, and then we have to hear about Mae being privileged --which she was -- but the whole story is about her becoming a drug addict and being raped at like 13 yo... She is not really complaining about her parents wanting to help her ; on the contrary, she aknowledges that she was rich. This series is based on her real life and maybe her parents had money, but she still had a catastrophic childhood because she ran into some horrible people who took advantage of her, and now she is trying to heal, find herself and stay away from drugs, while finding love. That's what the show is about. I feel like, for serious shows like this one, you can feel that they would have a different commentary if they had watched it in its entirety.

I really wish they would have focused a little more on Scott and how Mae's trauma was in large part due to statutory rape and living with her abuser.
@yellowhouse4911
@yellowhouse4911 3 жыл бұрын
I mean that's basically maes entire story arc this season...she completely blocked it in her mind and it takes time for her to even realise that something wrong was going on, she is haunted by visions of scott, she gets frequent panic attacks from the memory's and even hides from them the same way as she did when she lived with him. And in the end she does confront him

I didn't really like season 1 but season 2 is really really good imo. I have PTSD so that spoke to me on a deeper level lmao. Fair warning tho it does delve into some heavier topic and showcase the main character being triggered and having flight response and panic attack quite a few times so viewers discretion is advised ya know.
