I love your stuff, and I love this song! It's about the inevitability of death (every breath leaves me one less to my last, every step leads me closer to my last etc), and features many quotes from Shakespeares Hamlet which has the same central themes. With that in mind, the unexpected, abrupt ending might make a little more sense. ;)

That whole album ridiculous from start to finish.

All these guys are top shelf in playing skills with their respective instruments...they're considered to be a "Prog" band, so some of their other stuff may have to "grow" on ya a bit. Check out "Glass Prison," it's like Metal being played with a "Jazz" type of style, in that it seems like it's flow is "all over the place" because of all the time stamped tempo changes.

You might be thinking Geddy Lee from Rush. Early in his career, James LaBrie sounded a lot like him sometimes (IMO) Also, judging by your reaction to this and what you said, I think you would really appreciate the song Panic Attack by these guys. Starts out at a 10 level of intensity and somehow manages to ratchet that tension up steadily throughout the song.

It's called progressive music. In this case it is progressive metal. There is a lot of good prog metal/rock band. I personally am a fan of prog rock 70s, bands of this time inspired dream theater and other modern prog metal bands. Bro, if you want really-really good composition, react to "Firth Of Fifth" by Genesis. Genesis were pioneers of prog rock. This song will blow you away. I requested it for months. It's a masterpiece

One idiot was Pulled Me Under.. This song is amazing!! React to Annihilator "Welcome to your death" and Annihilator " Allison Hell" Studio version. And if you really like drums Overkill "in Vane" insane drumming there.

This is a middle of the road type song for Dream Theater. Actually one of their less complex. And the guitarist barely shows what he is capable at all in this song. It's also like 25 years old. They just released an album so yes they are still around.
