I have to wonder how did he die. Only strokes and heart attacks and things like aneurysms cause sudden death. He did the video on why did Steve Jobs die. I hope his family will tell us how he died. May he RIP.🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@whisper2162 He probably had some damage from the lacunar stroke he had at age 18. Strokes such as that typically shorten lifespan by 30%. I frankly think it's incredible that he lived as long as he did, a testament to his diet.

@@peter5.056 You may be right. Do you think w/o the stroke, he could have possibly made it to 100? Mary McD also has that same weak / frail look. It will be interesting to see how long she actually lives.

I had a hard time with food before I always wanted junk foods…pizzas, lasagne, veggie burgers,French fries, other fried foods, desserts of all kinds, ice cream eating way to much of this stuff. Thank you Dr McDougall the starch solution diet has helped me to get off this merry go round of wanting and eating junk food,I no longer have these cravings and I’m so happy with my new diet,I’ve been vegetarian/vegan for years and this diet is right up my alley so to speak and I’ve always loved potatoes🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍🇨🇦

This is a beautiful tribute to a doctor who cared so much. Unfortunately he is no longer on this earth, reminding me to thank those who also make a huge difference while they are here. So with that said, "THANK YOU Chef AJ" for all your hard work promoting this healthy life style. I was introduced to the WFPB way of eating in 2020 and have not looked back. I'm almost 62 and NO medications, lowered cholesterol and lowered BP . My doctor was shocked and said it wouldn't last but my weight has stayed in the same range since starting no health issues and I enjoy working out five days a week including walking everyday because I feel like it! I was like your guest and deprived with guilt my whole life now I eat more than ever with no weight issues. KZfaq has been such a great tool to finding so many plant based friends and we all like minded in terms of wanting as healthy lifestyle as we choose to. Why would anyone not want to! My only regret is that I didn't know about the Starch Solution in my twenties.

His heart may have given out in his older age. The stroke from when he was a huge meat eater at 18 and stress from other things like his house burning down probably did not help. Another retired teacher writing to you from Brazil known for its barbecuing, who got a scare 5 years ago and remembered reading about Dr. McDougall about 40 years ago and looked him up online, read The Starch Solution, went plant based, and turned around my cardiac and weight issues. I also owe him a big and special thank you as well as all the many other docs I’ve followed that I would have never known had I not rediscovered him. FYI, I am a bi-hemispheric outlier and freak between Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles as the majority of my family, friends, and colleagues have their heads in the sand. Unfortunately, it will take serious heath issues for them to consider make by the needed changes. A few are open, but again, even those I know with serious health issues opt for meds and illness over wellness. I continue to share my acquired knowledge without seeming like a religious zealot as I have been accused. Just needed to finally share. Thank you again and I will carefully share this talk.

RIP doc. We will forever miss you. Your honesty, energy and support changed countless lives. For one my father, me and my husband’s health were saved by you. My dad had congenital high cholesterol, even being ovo-lacto vegetarian his whole adult life (since he was in his 20s). At 65 when I discovered you and passed the info to my dad (who is a nephrologist by the way), he dove right in and for the first time in his life his cholesterol went down to a healthy level!! That was like a miracle. And the starch solution cured my recurrent yeast infections for good. Even my mom, a convinced meat eater anti all things vegetarian and diabetic for 30 years, ended up converting and reversed her diabetes. You are a hero to all of us

I’m crying along with her just 8 minutes in. 🥲❤️ Dr. McDougall has changed my life too! Decades of disordered eating cured with a starch-based diet. I’m going on two years soon, dropped all 75+lbs of excess weight and easily maintain 140lbs now at 5’10”. I still need to exercise more and I can focus on that now that the food comes so easily!

Dr. McDougall’s prediction came true: the ads have begun from lawyers offering to represent those hurt by GLP drugs.

Sending love and gratitude to all the Mc Dougall family. I always watched the youtube health & medical Center & wanted all those who were silent Mc Dougallers to watch and "like" this wonderful program and tell everybody that this is the best lifestyle change you can ever make. I'm 77 years old and live 45 minutes north of John & Mary. I thought of how wonderful it was that you were both so close. This morning I made steak fries in the air fryer with no oil just soaked in Apple Cider Vinegar. I didn't have any ketchup & made it in just a few seconds with tomato paste, water, apple cider vinegar, sugar & sea salt from Miyoko Schinner's "Vegan Pantry" book. She's another person I admire. She had a youtube show during the pandemic & literally gave daily cooking instructions on how to make her butter, cheeses, tofu, tempeh, meats and various other things to make your life feel normal since we couldn't go to the market. There are so few selfless truth tellers out there, but you were one of the best. We saw you, heard you, & love you.

That is wonderful!! I’m 62 yo woman trying to make this change for a healthier life for my last half 🙂 I’m at a normal weight but coming from the low carb world; which has not been doing well for me lately! What will starches do to my triglycerides? Can we do mostly potatoes and beans? I’m not big fan of veggies. Thank you, keep up the great work and God bless!!❣️🙏

@@Ranch-girl Hello, thank you ❣️ Let me encourage you that your taste changes over eventually and veggies end up being so delicious you can not even believe it! Truth! And keep in mind that your plate should have balance. Pick one starch and add veggies. Example, pick a potatoes and add veggies. Or pick rice and add veggies. Or pick beans and add veggies. Or pick corn on the cob and veggies. So the idea is pick your starch choice for that meal and add veggies. I eat a smoothie once a day too. My body always does well with some fruit smoothie once a day or at least 4 - 5 times per week. I drink water at meals and between meals. I sometimes make oatmeal cookies with chef AJ's recipes. I also use Dr. McDougall's cookbooks. Once in a while you might have 2 starches together, like beans and corn when making burritos, or soups. But mainly just usually one starch on the plate along with veggies or salad and add applesauce on the side or part of a grapefruit or some canned no sugar peaches, etc.. at one meal per day. My smoothies are only 1/2 to 3/4 cup full per day. I enjoy nuts and seeds on my salads and sometimes a dash of nutritional yeast. I never feel it's boring eating like this and often, yes often marvel at how many starch and vegetable choices there are! I take no medicines and my blood pressure is spot on. I'm not losing weight anymore, my initial 25 lbs I lost 6 years ago is not any less 6 years later. But my weight isn't a yo yo which is great and I feel good and I am healthy. I decided that considering all that, I can't ask for more! I hope you hang in there till your taste buds thank you on the veggies! God bless you!
