First start up after in-frame

Great Job. I can tell it from the way it sounds this truck is back to its original shape. Thanks Joe I'll be rolling down there tomorrow to pick it up. Can't wait to get there...Yay 😀 yay 😀

Nice work i have done same inframe .instuctions i had said not to idle engine during breakin but to work engine under load.

That is correct. I let it idle for a while to check for leaks or loose items. Break in I do driving unit on farm road holding it at 45 mph for about an hour round trip. I do this a few times with pauses of about an hr in between. I would do it in shop if cam were to be replaced.

We had a 97 with the same engine, just thatbeautiful throatie aggressive clattery sound that it has at startup! Good old turbocharged inline 6.

Hey Tom. Engine fired up after a few tries. All in all. It works very nice with the exception of a small oil leak.

Joe have you worked on many Cummins ISC 8.3? Pretty similar to DT466...

Hey there Almomomosthomebus. No. I haven't work on any ISC's. It's all ISB's at the school districts. Hope I do run into one in the near future.

So I have a 2005 DT466 and I replaced the cylinder head and gaskets once I went to start the truck it cranks for ever but will not start unless I hit it with starting fluid once on sounds great but soon as I put it in drive it dies ? I did get it moving one time but max speed was 8 to 10mph what should I look for ?

Need to check your fuel pressure and oil rail pressure. ICP on a scanner.

I need your help with a note start condition on my 07DT466E. I will pay you for a consultation. Replaced I CP and high pressure oil real O-rings and it started and ran fine. Change the oil and now no start again.
