I have been building my lb7 these past few months and man your videos are everything to my build from the parts to tuning and maintenance thanks alot man and please don’t stop you’re the only KZfaqr with any good lb7 specific content and it’s great

I personally like the lb7s, more just from the fact that they are the originals, no emissions hoops to jump through. In a lot of ways the LB7 and LLY trucks are the same. Same pistons/rods, same headgasket issues. The couple perks of the LLY are a variable vane charger from the factory, and they dont have the same injector failure issues of the lb7 (and you can access lly injectors much easier than lb7 injectors.) You do have a early version EGR system to deal with, which is getting harder. But both are still the 5 speed Allison as well.

How did you test for leak at compressor cover

DuramaxTuner sells a billet plate that bolts to the lb7 turbo inlet that works perfect for this. Or, if your intake horn is sealed correctly to your turbo inlet you can just use a standard boot adapter on your intake.
