This is GREAT information for ALL Crossbow shooters. The "science" of constructing todays Crossbows is that a science. The ability to reach 500 fps is awesome but the Crossbow shooting 300fps will still kill an animal, that said the more you learn the safer we will be. Great series of Videos.

Perfect timing to help us get our minds on getting ready for this coming season. Just took my cross bow to have it serviced and string changed. Wanted to beat the rush at the shop, and have plenty of time to check my setup. Been following Ranch Fairy, and Draggin deer for awhile. Have learned a lot, and improved my distance & accuracy. I used to do this all the time with my compound. Not as much now that I've switched to crossbows. Age thIng, lol. I have found, 90% of my arrows are knocked correctly. If you notice they usually put the offset color vane on whatever advertisement/name they put on The bolt. Most quality, keyword, quality bolt manufacturers are good about this. But this videos worth doing for sure. Just for the couple that might be off. Thank you for ur effort on putting out a quality video.

Awesome video, I just got a KI Diesel X crossbow and love it. How do you like the 390 grain KI Hypr bolts? Mine seamed like the tail was wobbling when I shot them even though they grouped ok. Got some 400 grain Barnett headhunters from Walmart and they shot much better and grouped good. I was looking at the Black Eagle Executioners but that may be to big a jump from 390 grains to 426 grains.

Glad ya like it! I usually rebuild my HYPR arrows (remove insert, add 110 gr insert and nock tune) and shoot them with 150 grain heads. The setup with a lighted nock is right at 500 grains…so don’t be afraid to jump up in weight!

For glued in Knox use compressed air in a can from the office store. Spray down in the shaft in the arrow looking aqua pull out.

Great advice, I have 2 Centerpoint crossbows, Wrath 430 & Amped 425, the Centerpoint bolts have glued in Nocks. I purchased killer instinct bolts, but they are lighter (270 grains with no point, vs 300 grain on the centerpoint bolts (again no point). So they'd be total 400 grain or 370 grain with 100 grain field point or broadheads. My question, do you think 370 grain bolts are too light (they shoot awesome) ? The Amped 425 is rated "up to 425 fps", but only shooting 400 with the 400 grain bolts.

Don’t go below min arrow weight and shoot what you’re confident in. I personally like something 500 ish up to 550, but if you have a setup shooting awesome and you’re confident in it…hunt on brother 🤘

@@draggindeeroutdoors I lost a fletching off one of my 22-in bolts and I gave it a try. Nock high tears no matter what I did. I think what I would need to do is cut the bolts shorter and see if that helped, but it might be unavoidable that you just get a nock high tear because of the velocity and the method of a standard crossbow. Might be different with your bow that has the enclosed rail

I’ve done similar videos in the past, you’re right. But I wanted to do another based on the questions I often get, hopefully this one clears up the items other videos may have lacked.

I saw a video here on KZfaq about finding the spine. He used a pipe clamp and it really works!! I went and checked my new vertical arrows a marked it and started there for my nock tuning (bare shaft)... Bullet holes or damn close right off the bat. Next were my xbow arrows... @@draggindeeroutdoors it was EYE OPENING! Just the tiniest bit of rotation one way or the other makes the arrow bend to the side.
