The misfits and samhain helped shaped my life into who I am today. I learned how to play guitar, drums and bass by practicing their songs. About 17 years ago before you could find anything on the internet I remember watching the tape that came in the samhain box set over and over again trying to figure out how Damien and von was playing the songs. So cool to see all your interviews. These guys were always such a mystery but baby not to me, anymore. Thanks man and keep up the good work.

Keyser Soze, I really hope they do an interview with Eerie Von as well cuz not only is he a great musician, he's a great guy as well. He's the one person who's responsible for those awesome cave photos of the Misfits (the lineup of Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, and Arthur Googy) and others, most of those awesome photos are in his book, Misery Obscura. Aside from guys like Arthur Googy, and London May, there should be interviews with Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein just to know from their perspectives. Other than that, I, too, hope there's an interview with Eerie Von as well.

WTF..!..i was (still am of course) a massive Samhain fan from 84-86..Saw the Pistols at finsbury park in 96..had NO IDEA until TODAY 'Damien' was in Iggy's band that day!!..so i saw him 10 yrs after NCF..but didn't find out until 24 yrs later..haha...jees.....i must keep up... :-)

Very cool to see this! Pete/Damien is the reason I play the old Iceman guitars. Plus this interview answers my 29 year old question of why the guitars on November-Coming-Fire were recorded direct. ;-)

I also helped start a little horror punk band from delaware called grave mistake. I left the band but they ended up pressing some albums. There are a couple songs on KZfaq if you search for grave mistake. Mars needs cheerleaders and dances with werewolves. The songs were actually recorded by Joel grind from toxic holocaust

I like this guy. Seems cool. Quick witted. But I feel like he's not being fully honest (with himself?) about why he didn't make the jump to Danzig. First, to say Samhain set his playing back years seems crazy. If it was beneath him, I don't see how it would have made him worse? He could have still practiced whatever he was playing at the time after learning Samhain's material (what, 9 songs for Initium). Also, John Christ (like Chuck Biscuits) was on a different level than ANY former guitarist Glenn had EVER worked with, there was NO way he wasn't going to lose his spot. It sucks for them, but it's the truth. It also seems like he and Rubin had some history (bad history, unfortunately) between them, which couldn't have helped, but he and London were doomed, regardless. Phenomenal interview. Thank you. Love the channel. What's next?

From what I’ve read Danzig wanted no part of Damien and urged glenn to find somebody that had technical skill and quite frankly he wasn’t wrong. Samhain is great but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking it was sonically good. It was not.

I absolutely would have but there's just next to nothing out there since all of it is out of print and none of those bands have any social media sites with the exception of Frankenstein 3000 but since that site hasn't been updated in a while and he's not currently listed on it i didn't include it. When a page goes up for the whorelords stuff and it's finally released ( hopefully this year on vinyl/cd ) I'll be posting something up on here about it with links to it but right now there's not much online aside from the stuff he did with Samhain/Iggy Pop.

I know this is an old interview, but does anyone know what make/model guitar Pete is playing at the end?.. Obviously it's a Les Paul style model, but I can't make out the name on the headstock!?. Any info would be appreciated!....

Yeah no, sorry bub. And hair metal? You do know Danzig primarily came up with the riffs yes Marshall’s playing innSamhain was sloppy. Quit trying to rose tint glass the situation. He would not have made a good edition. His playing was amateur hour.
