Egg foo young is an omelette dish found in Chinese Indonesian, British Chinese,[1] and Chinese American cuisine.[2][3] The name comes from the Cantonese language. Egg foo young is derived from fu yung egg slices, a mainland Chinese recipe from Guangdong. (Wikipedia)
Chef Rob was in the mood for Chinese food and man did he deliver! Everything was simply delicious! This is not a meal ideal for anyone with issues with their blood pressure due to the amount of sodium in the sauces but you can feel free to substitute with liquid aminos.
Gravy:
1 1/2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
1 Tbsp of soy sauce sauce
Liquid seasoning
1/2 Tbsp of Better Than Bouillon (chicken flavor)
2 cups of water
Egg Foo Young Patties (makes 7)
9 eggs
1 1/2 cups Bean sprouts
1 cup diced shrimp
1 cup diced chicken
2 cups oil
Fried rice:
1/2 cup scallions
1/2 cup shrimp
2 cups diced chicken
2 cups of diced beef
Soy sauce (to taste)
1 1/2 cups bean sprouts

Great job!! Just a little tip. Beating the eggs make them spread out too much and makes them runny. If you put all your ingredients in your bowl then crack the eggs over top, add a teaspoon of cornstarch slurry, fold them in and cook immediately they will hold together better. This wise Chinese gentleman shared this with me, and you can make 2 or 3 at a time. Keep on cooking and I am a new subscriber!!!!

@@foolinwiththefords6721 I concur, adding a teaspoon of cornstarch slurry, and a teaspoon of your stock to the mixture will increase it's cohesion and it will retain it's consistency and form better. The more drippings of protein is a super plus for the gravy. Some of the best egg foo young I have had are from soul food cooking like yourself. You remind me of a southern BBQ place is Meriden CT, named Southern Que BarBQ on Pomeroy Avenue right off the highway exit. I made a huge mistake one trip thru the area and asked him for more sauce with the Pulled pork. "This is gravy son, not sauce" I am glad I made it out of there alive 🙄

The dish looks 😋 delicious. I think by adding a little baking powder to your egg mixture would help them to puff when you cook them. 😋😋😋

Yall surprised the hell out of me! I thought I was in the back kitchen of a Chinese restaurant. Never seen anyone make Egg Foo Young and that looked good 👍 Gonna search more for your cooking. Keep doing it

If you would prefer a fluffier patty you can just separate your egg whites from your yolks and beats your egg whites until they are fluffy and then incorporate your yolks back into your whites and that will do the trick. Thank for your comment.

I was afraid too, but it's really so easy. I gave it a try and I did it, just don't be in a hurry flip it, med heat.

I appreciate your comments so keep them coming, but as I’ve stated previously in my videos you’re cooking for yourself and your family so if there is something you don’t like make it your way my bean sprouts are cook the way my family and myself like them.

@@foolinwiththefords6721 agreed, my previous comment was based on chef experience, this comment is based on preference. There are those that like a softer consistency for meats and veggies, and those that like more, um, well let's say crunch & texture, me being the former, and the person replying is referring to blanching the veggies for 30 to 60 seconds, and many that like a more soft protein would velvet the protein (this is done by either adding cornstarch and egg, or baking soda and eggs, and let sit in the frig for 30 minutes to make the protein super tender) but again, this is by personal preferences, and not culinary skill set. Love the3 OP btw great cooking methods.
